I’ll be playing some Deep Rock Galactic. Always end up back playing it. ROCK AND STONE!

Been on a huge Spider-Man kick, lately. Just 100%'d the first and am currently probably 1/4 of the way through Miles Morales. I really like the new mechanics overall, I just suck at stealth 😬

Edit: Oops, didn’t realize this was the Xbox community, my mistake!

I’m jealous. I still haven’t picked up a PS5 and I love the Spiderman games!

Oh, I’m playing them on PC and Steam Deck. I can’t justify a PS5 purchase, at least not yet.

We’ll see how long my will holds out for the Spider-Man 2 PC port, though, haha.

Regarding DPG, I find it hard to find groups to play with in my time zone. I’m on the Discord server, but nobody seems to be online my evenings NZT. I’ve tried DRG solo, but think it’s better multiplayer. Any tips to find people to play with?

Love that game. I’ve been slowly playing through the campaign on my laptop when I’m away from home.

Frostpunk since Sunday. I was just able to handle the London people, now I’m getting sick of it.

I love this game. Went through almost all the scenarios before burning out. Good stuff. Excellent console controls.

Wandering around Boston in Fallout 4, reinforcing some settlements, collecting some junk for scraps, and sleeping with Cait.

Even found another power armor suit that had somehow gone undiscovered years ago.

I’m playing on an Xbox One with just the six DLCs.

I installed one mod a looong time ago, whose name and purpose I don’t recall, and since then my gamer score has not increased despite having played several other games.

So, I’m a bit leery of trying anything else. As time permits, I’ll looking into getting things straightened out.

Ah, I didn’t mean mod, I meant character build. Like a sniper, or melee focused thief, or smooth talking bard or something 😀

Ah, yea, sorry. I’ve only ever used one character, and I think I started with mostly an “intelligence” build.

            My character’s current SPECIAL stats are 10, 13, 7, 12, 10, 9, and 9 at level 129.

Wow, I didn’t even know you can reach level 129.

I love Fallout and Bethesda RPGs, but for some reason I couldn’t get into Fallout 4. It’s on my list of “give another try” list, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.

When I couldn’t get into it, I searched different things about the game, and found out character builds of all kind. Everything from simple ones like sniper, melee etc to weird ones, like ‘The Ninja’, and then some even weirder ones on YouTube.

Yea, I can understand. The early part of the game is marred by Preston Garvey giving one assignment after another, and having to rush off the defend settlements.

But FO4 has a quite elaborate settlement building component, and after ringing them with turrets and other defenses, they can pretty much take care of themselves, leaving more time to wander.

There’s quite a variety of things to see outside the city. My favorites are the Glowing Sea to the south west and Far Harbor to the north east (DLC).

The thing that really gives FO4 longevity, for me, is that the leveling up has no upper limit. Whatever character traits one picks initially should theoretically converge to a character with everything.

Yeah, maybe I should give it another go.

That’s nice about leveling. This is how I like playing Bethesda games. First play-through, I do everything I want. Then when I feel the urge to play them again after a while, I play a specific class. Like playing, just a melee fighter in Skyrim, or so on.

I’m enjoying the different take on “city building” in this game. You have to take care of the dragon creature as well, which feels like a modern version of a tamagotchi. Adapting to the different climates/poisonous clouds the creature walks through is a nice challenge. I’ve been playing it every day since the gamepass release and I love it.

Well it’s been 8 or 9 years since I played the first so whatever difference that may make…

When it first came out people complained about it a lot. But I’d heard a lot of fixes have gone in, and I’m just now picking it up.

I like it. I feel like there’s more random combat walking around which I hated at first but I’m getting the hang on dodging and blocking so I’m enjoying it now. There seems to be more random side quests.

The story seems more fleshed out, presumably because it’s also been 20 years in game since the first.

Overall I feel like the game is more of the same once I got the hang of the combat part. I don’t remember a lot of the intricacies of managing my inventory and crafting from the first game, so I don’t know if it feels more complicated, or I’ve just forgotten how it was.

What I don’t like, the story being more fleshed out actually. It felt more like a “cowboy” type of thing before, where everyone including NPCs was doing their own thing, including you. I liked the less structured feel of the environment and people if that makes sense.

I do also miss that the style of the game was new to me. Overall the first person parkour, running, combat, etc was something I’d never played.

Thanks for the detailed analysis. I’ll probably give it a try when I can get it on sale. I liked the first one quite a bit so I was looking forward to the second one but heard lots of negative.
