Russia’s first cargo is 40,000 metric tons – or less than 2 hours of diesel fuel consumed in the US – and 13 percent of Trump’s controversial deal. Putin revised an earlier announcement that it would sail on Oct. 22.
Hopefully, Ukraine has drones waiting to take out any Russian…or heck, American, oil freighters in the region. Trump is a traitor, and any military or civilian forces who obeys his will, are also traitors. He has ignored Congress, declaring wars and deciding international relations without our authority.
He and his kind are Dogey Confederates, and have renounced being American by their actions.
That raises an interesting logistics question - is it worth making cheaper per unit naval drones, or better to just scale up quadcopters and focus on attacking oil production?
Probably a case of diminishing returns. There is only so many observation and attack units in a given theater that you can deploy, before the enemy starts catching onto the idea of what your strategy is, what numbers you can field, and begin placing assets of their own.
Personally, I think the ratio should be higher for quadcopters and other land-oriented drone units. The ocean is big and usually empty, with the odd concentration of highly valuable targets. If I were to decide how to approach things, I would make the naval drones relatively few, high quality, and stealthy, interdicting key zones of travel and transit. Land territories have to deal with much greater randomness, so you need a greater mix of disposable assets.
