It’s in the article. A journalist asked a long leading question which was a critisism of Trump and then asked if Zelenskiy felt like a scapegoat for everything.

The journalist basically already said everything worth saying about it, so there was no point in answering it.

I hate that kind of journalism, because it’s usually done in an attempt to make the interviewee admit to something they never stated themselves, or to drag out whatever point the journalist wants to make themselves in the first place.

I believe it started in sports news where the players are usually very brief, so the journalists invented this way of describing everything that happened only to end with a redundant question like “…this must be very important for your team?” or similar.

Anyway, I guess Zelenskiy was able to use it by utilizing his experience as a comedian and not answering with anything but a smile, which the audience caught as an acknowledgment of everything they were thinking themselves. Like, it’s all implied and understood, no more words are necessary.

Trump has been openly laughed at to his face by rooms full of world leaders at multiple UN speeches, so we’re on our way. But I’m all for more.

Yeah they’ve laughed at him since 2018 at least, at a UN General Assembly – but here’s the thing: I think that’s the entire point of Trump. To make the world laugh. Long-term US Allies know Trump is a kompromised asset, and they keep hoping to get through this and bury this time under the rug and get back to normalcy. But well, normalcy never comes and these leaders are starting to be pressured into acting out of self-preservation.

Unfortunately, this is a win for autocrats like Putin and Xi.

Zelenskiy: “President Trump is facing pretty difficult midterm elections. His personal popularity is very low, diesel prices in the U.S. are very high, and the war that he started in the Middle East is not going the way he wants it,” the Sky News reporter asked. “Do you think you are being treated as a scapegoat for his own problems?”

Zelenskiy took a long pause, glanced at the papers on his podium, and then looked up, smiling. The whole room laughed.

“This is my answer,” Zelenskiy said.

      Excellent.

As an American, I’m laughing at trump too.

At least when I’m not cursing him, his sycophants, and other fascist supporters that are running roughshod over my country.
