Big fuck you to the trend of taking screenshots of social media posts so they forever have the very useful timestamp of “23 hours before this screenshot was taken”. Though also an honorable mention to all the apps and sites that only display a relative timestamp.
I despise interfaces that try to be “friendly” by showing relative times. It’s not helpful. It’s counter productive. If you tell me it was at 08:45 I can look at what time it is now and fucking figure it out. Not so if you say “20 minutes ago”
And then some of them have fucking javascript to update the text. Fucking insanity.
Sometimes I think we should get rid of 3/4ths of the “product people”, but then wi the just engineering websites would just be like plain text and the occasional still photo. Which, honestly, sounds okay.

Agree. The sleuth in me wants to say “It’s Threads, so we at least know it’s no older than July 2023,” but an actual date is more useful.
