Once a company goes public is when you should abandon all hope. Capitalism cares about money. That’s it. A publicly traded company has a fiduciary responsibility to its shareholders to make decisions that make line go up. That’s it. After the UHC CEO murder, the shareholders sued the company for not making decisions that benefited them. Money is god, and that is all that matters.

It was all just a tech demo in the beginning. Then it got popular and was promptly taken hostage by the desperate Next Big Thing™ gang, who really needed something to exploit to keep the gravy train rolling.

I was trying to do a return on Amazon today and I had to use my computer because for some reason my phone browser kept getting it to go into some AI workflow / chat thing that didn’t work at all. It just loaded forever and did nothing.

Interesting that this is so absolutely true and we all share this experience so keenly that they didn’t even need to mention ai in it yet we all knew that was what it’s about.
