Firstly, I doubt most people actually believe an all trans, 100% indigenous-only, unelected assembly will ever happen. Nor should it, frankly. Not if you want to live in a democracy.
Secondly, nothing i said suggests i consider anyone to be either noble or a savage. I certainly don’t think anyone is a “noble savage”. That’s white supremacist talk and I’m not in sync with them at all.
In this country, they got some of the worst treatment possible. Generations grew old without being allowed to learn their own language and culture. Compare this to Indians. (insert racist dot and feather reference here).
Indians also got colonized. Enslaved. Brutalized. Stripped of their sovereignty, dignity, wealth and much more. Yet we have kids born in Canada who speak various languages of India that their families teach them. You can take various elective classes to learn languages of Asia in many Canadian high schools. You barely see one anywhere teaching indigenous languages in most districts.
Native folks did suffer pretty fkn bad. If you think their plight is even remotely similar to what white south africans suffered at the hands of British fktards then you should stop listening to Musk, Rogan, Schultz, Gillis and the rest of that white supremacist manosphere.

Indian act wasn’t about treaties. Supreme Court has done a better job upholding the rights and treaties of indigenous folks in recent years than the any government assigned “Indian Agents” ever did.
It reduces all indigenous people down to “Indians”. It was put in place with the intent to control and “civilize the savages”. It’s racist and an insult to the intelligence and abilities of people like Wab Kinew, P.J. Akeeagok, Jody Wilson-Raybould and many more to pretend like the Indian Act accomplishes anything positive.

He wasn’t perfect, far from it, but he was a force for good in Canadian politics. He was the only federal politician, in my life so far, that gave the slightest bit of fk for the workers and the poor.
