I have 3 but would LOVE to hear more…
You can always have more but you can’t have less
This one’s from my dad and it really stuck with me. You can, and really should, apply this to any intoxicant.
On the pitch is off the streets
This is about getting restless kids, or kids who might be in a bad situation, into sports.
The axe forgets but the tree remembers
Translation on this one: People who cause hurt are less likely to remember than those it affected.

My most favourite saying is:
Do the right thing, for the sake of it being the right thing.
It has got me far in life, even if there are occasional dips.
Another one that my father taught me: put a smile on your face and make the best of it. (sometimes you can’t change the situation, but you can change how you view it.)
This one really struck a chord with me when I was young. There used to be an illustration on the wall of the hallway which led toward the cafeteria in elementary school. It read similar, “Do the right thing, even if everyone around you isnt.”
It got me through a lot and saved my ass a few times.
I don’t recall ever seeing one like that… I like it, but you just reminded me of one I grew up seeing… a bird eating a frog, but the frog is choking the bird, with a quote "never give up "
I recall the illustration: it was crayon or colored pencil faces of kids (like cartoon style or what your world find in a children’s book) that outlined the quote. One face was happy while the other’s looked… Mad or sad maybe.
