Tuna melts on sourdough with avocado, pepperoncini and brined redbud flour buds. Side of both Nacho and Cool Ranch Doritos because reasons. The same reasons that two high people told me this was the best sandwich ever.

Cost: $4.14 per person.

    …are you God? Holy sandwich…

$4.14 sounds pretty reasonable too, but I guess it depends on how big the sandwich is; it’s a little hard to tell size like this.

I’ve never had the urge to have my tuna hot or with cheese. It does look good, though! My favorite is just tuna on toasted rye or a bagel.

As a person that spent a few months in Ohio during the 80s I share your aversion to hit tuna. But tuna melts are awesome.

I’ve only had a tuna melt that is basically a patty melt, but replacing the hamburger with tuna salad (grilled on rye with caramelized onions and cheese). It’s pretty good, but not quite the same kind of “comfort food” as a plain ol’ cold tuna on toast. Nor as good as just having a regular patty melt.

Never tried, but egg on top of everything always seems to work.

I forgot sometimes bacon on top of tuna is also great, but it depends where.

Browned perfectly! Also great with chicken salad, different kinds of cheese or bread. If you had rye bread and a burger patty, you could go with a patty melt. Pretty sure those typically have Swiss cheese.

I opened my pantry to find just one can and one pouch of tuna. Not enough for three people. I offered a solution. They have the tuna. I do the same exact thing but use up that can of salmon hiding in the pantry for myself. There was a counter offer, they drive me to the dollar store for more tuna. I took the offer.

Oh, yeah, use what you’ve got. I like tuna as well. Salmon would also work. That’s a good one with capers. I guess we used to make a beef version back in the day too

I’m a little afraid to look for the beef version. No. I’m very afraid.

Would have been like roast beef sandwich with deli thin slices of homemade roast beef. Yeah. I don’t want it either though.

This looks amazing! One of my favorite recipes was inspired by high chefs who created an after-hours feast.

I used to do huevos rancheros a lot a year ago. But found that my wife isn’t really a fan. But if I took all the exact same stuff and put it in a burrito she would devour it. So breakfast burritos are now the default here.

My wife isn’t a big fan of pickle relish and I don’t normally stock it so pepperoncini is my default to add some acid to help balance all the mayo and tuna.

I’m almost with you. But I believe that sandwiches should be handled food. And even inside the sandwich that would have made this impossible to eat without a fork and knife. Though I do have way too many eggs.
