    All other issues aside… if it fails, why does it bother to post at all?

      Not sure if it’s a rhetorical question, but I’ll answer anyway.

      That’s often when it is most useful. It alerts people that it may be an unknown, new, or fringe source. You don’t see them often because the bot helps people report remove them quickly.

        Yes, but it would be better to note the domain age, the estimated hit count, and/or inbound link quantity instead of an error message.

        That would help people notice the difference between Yahoo.com and MyConservativeBlog.com

            Thanks! Basically the term you’re looking for is related to “domain authority”, and there are several metrics that go into calculating it.

      Because one of the mods programmed the bot and is really proud of their accomplishment. Their ego has blinded them to the problems they are causing.

      I agree that it’s good to be proud of your programming accomplishments. I also think it’s really fucked to abuse positions of power and ignore community input.

        Do we know which of the mods is involved? Obivously someone is but in that linked thread one of the mods claims that none of the mods are involved.
