For a long time the Federal highway Max speed was 55 and that was because feds threatened to pull highway funding if any state exceeded that. Any state exceeding it now is only doing so with the fed’s blessing. Money works.
So what are the consequences for breaking this law and why aren’t they being given?
These states get millions of dollars of funding for hundreds of programs from highways to business tax breaks. These can be cut immediately.
