Probably because the actual image data is ordered this way and rotation in JPEGs is often done via metadata.
OK so I’ll need to rotate the image on my phone first… I’ll try
No need. Just open the image in Paint or whatever and save as PNG.
PS: Maybe file a bug report that Lemmy should recognize JPEG files with lossless rotation.
