I try to stay a patient gamer. If you do you’re usually rewarded with a discounted, patched up game with content it probably should have launched with. The exception I’ve been using for myself recently for AAA games is, is a the game a single player experience with no micro-transactions? If yes, I’ll buy it day one or close to it. I do want to show them that I’m willing to pay full price for these games if they aren’t predatory pieces of shit.

Back when you also got a physical product with an instruction manual and possibly a poster or something else. Now we get a digital license that can be revoked and six months to a year of patching for it to be in a stable state. Yay!

I was thinking about sitting with some signage near their Super Chargers close to my place. That’s the only thing close to here. But it’s something.

Yeah Aldi, a German grocery chain. My wife has her Aldi quarter and that’s all it’s used for.

It’s just common decency and being nice for others. Like not pissing all over the toilet seat. Or if you do, cleaning up after yourself. (I view) Leaving things for the next person to deal with is lazy and just creates a mess for others to clean up.

I haven’t played the game at all since Seekers of the Storm came out but we would play it modded quite a bit before. The Samus character mod is so much fun.

Digital Foundry has complained about the stuttering issues in all of those games. Jedi Survivor still gets brought up.

Arkham Knight was the first I noticed it really bad on, no RT present. Since then it seems most Unreal titles suffer from it in some kind of way.

I remap a lot of my controls to try and be uniform across games as they can be.

My main thing is I hate it being used as a replacement for human creativity. I definitely think it has its uses. I like using DLSS and DLAA in games that support it. For the most part it’s made my gaming experience better. I see its usefulness with generating conversations for NPCs in a game. That’s crazy cool but it needs to be tiptoed around. It shouldn’t be used to replace writers, voice actors or artists.

I signed up for Midjourney a while back to see what all the hoopla is about. As I sat there refining my prompt and regenerating OVER and over and over to hopefully get something that wasn’t all fucked was such a waste of my time and an exponential waste of compute and electricity to generate what is essentially instant garbage. It’s crazy and I felt bad about using it afterwards.

Same, I dusted off my old MP3’s and have been slowly replacing them with flacc from BandCamp. PlexAmp is pretty sweet to take it on the go.
