Hi, I’m sbird! I like programming and am interested in Physics. I also have a hobby of photography.

:0
I also self-host a forgejo as a local backup as well as codeberg, so if codeberg ever goes down for some reason or another or if my internet is down, I still have a backup of my projects.
interesting
ah they all collaborated so that it was consistent. That makes sense, but it kind of makes you wonder what other arbitrary things were decided by the circle of department stores
On a tight budget, definitely look used wherever you can. You can get some banger deals on used computers, monitors, projectors, speakers, etc.
I would reckon either a cheap laptop, mini pc, or used workstation would work as a device to play movies. Alternatively, if you happen to have a playstation, you could also use that as a dvd player.
For speakers, the Edifier speakers are pretty good value. The 1280DB is under $200 and you can always hunt for sales. Make sure to get an active speaker so then you don’t need to get a separate amplifier. If you don’t fuss about sound quality, the teeny tiny pebble speakers are decent and can be found for very cheap too.
For display, I would go for a used projector. For projectors, depending on how big your room is, try to look for short throw projectors (basically means big screen with a small distance).
Another route would be a cheap monitor, which although smaller than what a projector can output, is still quite a bit bigger than a phone screen. It would work better than a projector if you have lots of windows and tend to watch movies when there’s a lot of sunlight (if you watch movies at night and/or you don’t have many windows, projectors work fine)
interesting
but why pink and blue? Are they cheaper to manufacture and mass produce or something?
THAT would be cool
I like the suits!
cool, but I would imagine the controller to be pretty chonk
someone said that triangle used to mean FOV (switching between first person and third person, for example))
fair enough. Someone should make a controller with no labels at all and they could just be different colours. I agree with the latter point, I always associate A with the right button, X with the top button.
shame that the big companies don’t use HE…
Oh, interesting. So Sega basically chopped off two buttons from the six button layout to create the Xbox layout, and after Sega stopped making consoles, Xbox used the same layout.
Ah, ok. So that’s why the button switches in the marketing look kind like those low profile keyboard switches. So there is really a fifth one :0
interesting, there’s a fifth one! Replaceable button caps means you can probably change the layout of it, unless they have some stupid notch or something to stop you from doing that (hopefully not though)
Yep that makes more sense. The Supernova is a really good controller as long as you like membrane buttons, while the Cyclone 2 is similar but with TMR sticks and mechanical buttons. 8BitDo’s lineup is confusing (the separation between “Wireless” and “Bluetooth” where the former can still do BT but not with the Switch) but the controllers themselves are great.
I think it’s good that there’s at least a few good controllers that offer physically swappable buttons. The GameSir Supernova looks pretty good for the price, while the Tarantula Pro and 8BitDo Pro 3 look like decent symmetrical stick options.
I searched a bit and apparently you need to right click, put your mouse on “shelf position”, and choose bottom. Also, you should right click the empty part it seems like. If right click does nothing, try using two fingers to click instead, maybe that will work.
