The knob should just pull off, but sometimes they require full chooch. If she breaks it, it’s not a big deal. If Habitat Re-Store is a thing near her they usually have a shelf of these knobs for almost nothing. If not the big box stores sell them too, and the lights can be turned on and off without the knob until she can get a replacement.

Back when I worked as a handyman I used the old knobs for many things. Some people get very weird about change. I’d usually ask if they wanted the new one to wedge into their junk drawer, though.

Almost anything Made in the western US and sold in the EU went through the canal. Panama is also going through a drought that is lowering the levels in the reservoirs they use to raise the locks. This is causing them to raise crossing fees and restrict traffic. The line-go-up people hate that, as they’d turn panama into a desert before they slowed the increase in their profits.

I just installed a new head unit in my car this year. It’s still a thing. I do think the sizing standard is dying as car manufacturers currently favor integrated units over modular. A thin layer of glue stick kept petg from bonding to glass for me, but a nice thick layer of G10 is better as long as you heat soak it before printing. I roughed mine up with some sandpaper and haven’t had any issues. Just remember good ppe when working with fiberglass.
