Erwartungshaltung stimmt nur kurzfristig. Was Parteien steuert sind Wahlgewinne, da die Verantwortlichen in der Partei nur abtreten wenn Wahlen verloren gehen. Das führt zwangsläuftig dazu das Parteien dahin gehen wo Wähler sind. Das hat weniger mit Strategie zu tun sondern ist mehr ein zwangsläufiges Resultat des Parteisystems.

Edit: Ich halte die Verluste an die Linke mehr für ein Resultat der desolaten Lage der Linken bei der vorherigen Bundestagswahl. Seit der Schröderregierung ist allen linken Wählern klar das die Grünen keine wirkliche linke Partei mehr sind.

Grade bei Älteren ist das so ne Sache… es gibt da eine gewisse Phase bei der die geistigen Fähigkeiten schon stark abnehmen aber rechtlich betrachtet in der Tat noch niemand anderes entscheiden kann. Wenn so jemand ins Krankenhaus kommt haben die Ärzte meist komplett freie Hand, und das wird von profitorientierten Kliniken gnadenlos ausgenutzt.

Naja… also Herr Streek labert oft viel Scheiß, aber bei vielen Medikamenten gibt es halt eine krasse Preisspanne bei der sich die Pharmaunternehmen ne goldene Nase verdienen.

Wenn jemand für den Bentely der Medikamente privat hundert mal mehr ausgeben will mag das ja ok sein, aber auf Kassenkosten, d.h. auf Kosten der anderen Beitragszahlenden sollte man das schon abwägen, und Alter spielt bei so einer Abwägung eine Rolle. Und oft sind die billigeren Medikamente auch nicht wirklich schlechter.

It is actually a feature as far as bureocracy and diplomacy is concerned. If a language is the non-native language for more or less everyone, no country has an advantage in negotiations due to rethorical skills and so on.

And besides, the only other real options would be French or German, and really no one wants that.

In my experience there has been a relatively recent massive improvement in English skills by the younger generation. Anyone 35+ is still very much behind though. As an elder Millenial myself, it actually caught me on a wrong foot carreerwise as being able to speak English well is no longer considered to be a selection criteria for many jobs, because so many can do it and it is assume a given.

I am sceptical of this… most likely the definition is slightly different between the countries and that causes most of the difference. Like for example one country might count car accidents that happen during working hours into it, while another one might not consider that a workplace accident.

Yeah, everytime this topic comes up I ask if they personally had such an experience or have personally witnessed one, and it is always only some 3rd person story from social media or so. Truely terrifying how people can be manipulated like that.
