Yeah, people are ignorant, that’s what it is. And they like to lie to themselves. I don’t like war, I don’t like conflict, even in my personal life, I rather live in peace and quiet. But step over my boundaries and you will be sorry. And second time you will probably avoid that.

I lean more to the left, generally, but I think nowadays, the left takes things to the extreme. It is one thing to purposely attack someone, it is another to not be able to defend yourself against attacks of any kind. When those people are against spending on defence and arms, they are just ignorant. Why do you think police exist? Because some people just don’t have the morality to abide by the rules we all set.

Do your work as a politician to ensure domestic safety and that there is no corruption in government to use those weapons for personal gains. Then the far right will not be so effective with their propaganda. They feed on fear and discontent. Make your citizens feel safe and have decent lives, and they will vote you.

Lots of people working as headless chickens, as always… The strange thing I can rant about is, that we have a strange colleague since forever, and she takes turns with whom to have conflicts with. I am pretty sure she has severe OCD, she opens doors only with tissue papers, she uses all the paper from the kitchens and bathrooms, she floods the toilets with so much paper, she uses all the soap, stuff like that. I don’t know how OCD works, because she is not especially a very clean person, it is somehow selective what she cleans. She sometimes comes with the same trousers day after day in the office.

If somebody brings cake or candy for the whole office, she takes all of it if the plates get to be unsupervised. She has an obsession with food. I saw one day on her desk a bag with at least 15 bread buns. They did not last long. She sometimes eats raw onion in the kitchen, imagine how that stinks. She farts in the office from what I heard. I don’t sit next to her, so I cannot confirm that, luckily.

Latest issue she developed is that she does not like light to come into the office, so there are conflicts with a colleague, because the others do not want to work in a bunker. There are a lot of tensions right now about this. She lies and acts like a victim with the managers. It is not the first conflict she has and that she is lying. And she is not a good developer, although she thinks she is superior to the others and treats people shit, she is a bully, especially with other women. Who knows what kind of trauma she lived in her life. Sometimes I am sorry for her, because she makes her life miserable. But she does make our life harder also, then I am not sorry for her anymore. She tried to bully me too, but I have zero tolerance for that behavior and I treated her harshly and she got the message. She avoids me now if possible.

It‘s shitty to have such a person in the office, everyone else is getting along very well. She clearly needs help, but nobody does anything. A few years ago, I left a self help book about OCD on her desk. Looks like it did not help.

Someone probably wanted to retire and live quietly somewhere. There was no need to scale up. Just some bs statements that are probably forced to say if they want the overtake to happen.

Al though I agree with a lot of what you say, I do follow some decent Americans on YouTube. There are also anti capitalist and free thinkers out there, but you know how it goes anywhere on the globe: the stupid are the loudest.

From what I see on YouTube, there are still a lot of people in the US who do boycott, who do protest. It is just that media does not show it. You know how media is. The good thing is you don’t need most of the chunk of the population to protest, but if the few percentage that do last long enough, you can make a change.

From what I see people organise themselves, and have strategies on how to act. And long enough boycotts are effective. You had in US history such effective boycotts. And people who are not willing to boycott or protest now, might slowly dip their toes into this mindset if there are enough examples for long enough around them.

Do not despair, if you do, they win. Act in any way you can, even if only boycotting the big players. Build communities and rely on yourselves. I mean, look at all the countries that are boycotting also. Their wallets will be affected and they will get scared.

I am sure the little shops can also bring in things if you ask them. But you do have to talk to them though. For example, in small garden centers, they don’t have everything on display or in stock. But they do have their connections, or propagating centers, and they can bring it in for you.

She talks here quite well of what can be done if you cannot protest. You can give support to the ones that do. But the protest has to be sustained. So help the ones that are willing to protest so that they can sustain it.

My father used to listen to it in the communist dictatorship. All in secret, of course. You would not want the Security Services to know that. He was well aware of the reality outside the dictatorship bubble.

Imagine the following: you see a room with a table and a chair in the middle. On top of the table there is a ball. A kid comes into the room, climbs the chair and tries to grab the ball that sits on the table. Did you finish imagining? I want you to answer for yourself now what was the color of the hair of the kid? What about of what he was wearing? Did you imagine these kind of details or you just imagined some concepts?

In my case I did see all the details and many more. My imagination is like a movie. I can imagine my future house with a lot of details inside. I can build it and rebuild it in my mind. Some people have problems to do that.

They do shady stuff with Romania‘s forests for their lumber. I am boycotting them since a few years ago when I say a documentary on DW.

:( Sorry to hear that. As human civilisation, we all lost honor, accountability, pride of a well done job. Sure, there are still a lot of people like that, but it is not the norm. We somehow need a reset, but we are not a computer that is easily resettable. And the systems in place just make people more broken. In my opinion education is everything, but to enforce good education…we are also depending on the current leaders. And there are very few good leaders in this world, because the system breaks you before getting in a position where you can make a change.

I think we also lack small communities. One‘s behaviour gets regulated by the feedback you have from the community. And it also can inspire you tu help and be a better person. In Today’s age, we are so individual, there are no external regulations, there is zero tolerance to being uncomfortable, because you don’t have to. Your life and basic necessities do not depend on your community as before. Most people are not bad, they are just misguided, unhappy and they do not know how to deal with emotions, how to self regulate. And if nobody regulates you with a feedback, yo go wild. I really hope there will be a change in our views now that it looks like Europe is on its own and we have to take care of each others. But I don’t put my hopes up too much.

The world we are living in… I wish there was a way to filter these kind of people out from jobs where other people depend on them. I always wonder at work(I am a SW engineer in a big company) how did HR allow hiring of some individuals? Some are just full blown psychopaths. The hiring staffs need to up their skills to detect these things.

I am also a millenial, a woman. And I agree with you. Rather fight for liberty than in a dictatorship. I‘ve already lived in a dictatorship the first years of my life, and although a kid, I do remember what was like and my parent did explain to us that there are other things outside the bubble, that there is freedom outside. We were told not to talk about it outside of the family, of course, because of security police.

I like the system that the Swiss have, to have all your population trained. To also know how to handle guns and be working in a team snd whatever they do to train. And they get refreshers every year according to Le Chat: Yes, Swiss citizens who have completed their basic military training are required to participate in annual refresher courses. Specifically, after finishing basic training, individuals remain members of the Armed Forces for nine years and must complete six refresher courses, each lasting three weeks, during this period. These courses ensure that their military skills remain up-to-date and that they are prepared for any potential service requirements. The obligation to serve in the military or alternative civilian service typically applies from age 18 to 30 .„

I would not enter in that age requirement anymore, but I would still love to do it. It is never a bad idea to be prepared, even if you don’t have to use your skills. Also to learn how to sabotage possible invaders, I think it would be invaluable in case of war. Look at Ukraine when they were invaded. There are a lot of stories of normal people fighting greatly against the surprise invasion.

And a war nowadays would look different than what was in WW2. I am far from being an expert, I am none, but the military equipment modern Europe has, is different even of what they sent to Ukraine. I think they sent a lot of old stuff. And having fighter jets and stuff like that, would be more helpful for the fight.

I read the other day someone from Finland, I think, saying that their goal this year is to learn to fly drones, so he could help in case of Russian attack. Fighting for Europe does not mean always being on the frontline with a gun in your hands.
