  • Sexism is the real killer. You loose half of the population from the pool. It not just a generational problem, the old guys teach this crap to the young guys and the young guys pass it on. My brother-in-law sucks with all of his sexist, anti-lgtba2+, racist bullshit. I keep getting told “it’s alright, he is in construction”. Well it’s not fucking alright, the kid is not even 25. I don’t blame people for staying away, they are all business run by sole proprietors so there never will be structure and rules to break the cycle.

  • I use to go to my old company’s owner with Open Source tools and everytime he saw a website that was like web 1.0/Basic WordPress he was like how I am supposed to trust this. I responded that if the dev was actually trying to trick us it would be some React single page site that looks pretty, this guy just wants to make software.

My point is that you are trying to sell this to the wrong people. They expect the average corporate React site with gradients on cards, like what an Ai would make, because that was what their training data was. Anything that does not fit that will be shutdown.

The Anubus girl is pretty good branding because it is an expressive character and not some hollow corporate design. higher ups hate that, they want the simple bland buttehole designs that the Ai company’s use.

  • I believe it is performative. They have to get all the Provinces to agree to a constitutional amendment and they won’t because this was not done democratically, this is not the will of the people. The will of the people does not include taking foreign money, it’s bad faith and undermines democracy. The real killer is that the First Nations will not agree to transferring their treaties that define their land. We don’t even respect the treaties as they are currently written, and it will get worse if another legal entity is involved because a 150+ year old contracts don’t align with modern law, so they will forever stay the same.

  • I looked it up. It is loosely write as you said, however that swings both ways.

There was something else I did notice. The provinces have to agree to the constitutional amendment required to allow Alberta to separate. All it takes is one Premier to say that the referendums were not done democratically. They would have to go through everything that was done in bad faith in front of parliament and be willing to pay the massive political cost of doing so.

The thing that is actually impossible is getting the First Nations to agree to leave Canada. I would guess they have claim to more than 75% of the land, leaving Alberta to be a fraction of the size it once was. Those treaties are a goddam mess and can basically never be modified.

  • I will have to look this up again but the clause that allows for Provinces to possibly leave the Federation has a stipulation that this must be done free of foreign interference. Basically what they are doing has been invalid from the start. When the idiots in Alberta were astroturfed by outside influence to believe that there is a desire for separation, it was already technically invalid. Since they are openly collaborating, it is clearly invalid and parliament can’t accept the result of whatever crap they do. Danielle Smith and the UPC know this and her actions make a lot more sense when you understand that they can do whatever and they know they will never have to deal consequences of running Alberta as a country. The sad part is that conservative politics are so garbage they are doing this instead of helping people.
