Yep. This is why politically advocating for privacy by default is so important, albeit its not going well lmao.

1·8 days agoSame but we don’t want a democrats situation where people have the legitimate point they’re both shit and therefore labor/liberal implode. of course liberals are suffering a well deserved implosion. Labor looks strong rn but there is potential to implode (look at vic labor) We should place pressure on labor to be much less evil (looking at you minns) so people want to vote for them rather than holding their nose while voting.

2·12 days agoI think this sort of politics is very important. Speaking generally, there needs to be a strong “vibe” that governments are helping. Think the “vibe” mamdani gives.
Its important to not oversell what you can do as a gov, but showing ambition towards compassionate projects that help the working class is so important if your wanting to defeat the nigels, trumps and in my countries’ case the paulines of the world.
Ive successfuly eliminated AI/chat bots completely out of my personal life. It was far far too much work. Well not that much, but if someone is tech illiterate its gonna be hard. Which unfortuntely is large swaths of the population.
Got a new email address with a provider that doesnt use AI, and also got the thunderbird client. Also changing the default search engine to no ai duckduckgo. Finally, going to linux so I dont have microsoft banging on about copilot. Well tbh i didnt go because of AI, its just that I liked the look of it and had heard that windows 11 was terrible.

Thats true, but you can lie or prefer to not say (at least on that Question).
Also I meant the gov in general, the government has access to my health record albeit with presumably lots of privacy laws preventing random non consensual access.
There are also private companies data collection to worry about of course (which one should put a lot of effort in preventing).
My point is a census in terms of privacy is so low down on the list on privacy issues. If anything its very private, given the various laws preventing access.
Not to say you should out yourself because of that, and choosing prefer not to say or straight is ok, just making a general point on the census.

The gov could figure out 98% of what you put down on the census using other means. I.e im trans. They can work that out by listing my perscriptions easy peasy.
My ex and I broke up for a few reasons.
First I think we couldnt handle conflict, in the sense of bringing it up even if it was needed.
Second, we lived far away. This one definitely effected it a lot, as its hard to not see them as a friend u meet up with occasionally.
Third, I came out as trans, so we both made the decision it was best to move on since my ex is straight.
Currently we are just friends, which is for the better.
