Europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Moroccan police arrest more than 100 people as they attempt to enter Ceuta
21·25 days agoEmbarrasing. A shameful show of force just to prove the EU they are doing “something” about the migrant traffic and to escape the responsibility about the Ceuta crisis they fueled.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•How do you check quality of open source projects
5·29 days agoJust to add what others are saying. Commit dates, see how many maintainers/contributors it has, recent PR, recent open issues, how developers respond to them, visiting their discussion forums. Checking their social media accounts can also be useful, might tell you how they interact with the rest of the community.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What Youtubers did you drop, And what caused you to do so?
517·1 month agoKurzgesagt: their video some time ago about current state of the world in terms of conflicts and violent deaths was disgusting. It was an apology to do nothing about the genocides occurring in the tone of “OH these things always have happened don’t be sad :))”

My old Samsung phone died a month ago, and as much as I wanted to deGoogle, I made sacrificed that and bought a 2nd hand refurbished Pixel 8 for quite cheap. I would love to buy the Grapehene + Motorola phone but we have no idea when will they release it and at what price.
Even though they recommend using the web installer, I installed via CLI and it was easier than I expected, very little source of confusion: i think the only thing I was confused for a short moment is what other tools, beside
android-tools, were necessary. Before I started using it I had many doubts about profiles and sandboxing strategies (I still need to use WhatsApp and online banking unfortunately), but once I got started, 1 extra profile and a locked space was enough for what I needed and it was very easy to setup.

Europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Germany blocking EU wide sanctions against Israel
4·1 month agoI don’t like the popular blackmail stance: Germany can independently support genocide with anyone forcing them to do it. And Nazi Germany did already collaborate with Zionists, see 1933 Haavara Agreement. In a way, they share the goal of emancipating Jews to a single place.

Europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com•How China bypasses new EU tariffs: Temu and Shein change strategy
6·1 month agoAs much as I think EU regulations in consumer products are nice and necessary to not have toxic and dangerous stuff in our lives, most of this tariff effort was pushed by the big retail Lobby www.eurocommerce.eu/ . They still sell vast amount of goods made in China, they just don’t want to lose the market.

Europe@lemmy.ml•EU fails to uphold the ICC arrest warrant once again
5·1 month agoI have been wondering what would be the procedure / protocol for this. Whatever government deploys a couple of fighter jets, they intercept the plane, command them to land, and the plane refuses, what then? Who the f*ck has the guts to escalate from there?
legally required to down the airplane Really? Honest doubt not trying to be sarcastic.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Best ways to make mainline browsers private?
2·1 month agoI use LibreWolf with ublock + noScript, and 4 different browser containers. The most common problems I face are mostly related to noScript, specially when webs try to redirect or there are cross-site requests. Those normally get fixed once I disable some/all noScript restrictions. Another common source of problems is the different captcha scripts, specially when the Google one, which I block by default obviously. Other than that I’m pretty content with it.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Moroccan whistleblower reveals how Rabat used Israel's Pegasus spyware for surveillance
62·2 months agoMoroccan government is deeply tied to the Zionist entity. Their use of Pegasus has been known for many years, including allegedly infecting the phone of Spain’s PM Pedro Sanchez. But the worst of this relation with the Zionazis is how, in these past months, they have been making purchases of Elbit drones and using them to strike the opposition in Western Sahara. Truly despicable.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Best way to share pictures with the fam?
1·2 months agoBeen wondering this myself, my family are constantly sharing their pictures of children through Whatsapp, it makes me very worried. Saving the thread.
author should have used another title: video is about attacks that GrapheneOS has been receiving by media, past developers and other state institutions. It’s actually a bit informative on that issue, but the ragebait title is very stupid.

Europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Russian Drone Incident Adds Urgency to EU-Funded Moldovan Air Defence
12·2 months agoLet’s be honest, most “urgency” on the matter of increasing military spending is EU-politicians wanting to fund the Weapon-manufacturers that pay their lobby fees.

Good news, version 9 was released not long ago so I’ll update later to check the changes :)
