  • According to 350.org:

The national conversation about data centres has been all over the place. It’s gone between:

    • The Labor Government being internally split on their position on data centre energy use1,

    • AI companies saying they’re going to rush their projects to get ahead of laws2,

    • A National Cabinet meeting of state and territory ministers announcing that the NT and QLD can go all in on coal and gas power3,

    • Chris Bowen winding that back a day later4.

  • It just seems so strange but telling that he is saying what he’s saying. In his working life he is meeting with a LOT of men who wield power and status, rah, rah, rah. Still, he can’t see any strong male role models ‘out there’ for young boys. He’s not looking ‘in here’. Why aren’t those strong, powerful men he deals with, and himself, doing more, like speaking up more clearly against the ‘toxic voices’, using their access to a lot of resources, including media and money, to help research and organise projects, support groups, activities, and so on, to provide that modelling and that real connection that boys (and all young people) need?

    Let’s whine but do nothing.
