Genuinely laughed out loud

I want to so bad! Are you from there

I do like transit hubs but yeah. I think if we do Costa Rica we’ll pick just one city because she’s older and I don’t want to drive much, and due to the length of her leg of the trip renting a car will be a pain. I certainly don’t want her to drive lol.
I was thinking 3 days nice resort, 3 days sleeping rough-ish, so then she has time for the flights and then the rest will be just me and I can do anything by myself

Which aren’t environmentally devastating?

Bless you

You need a massage babe

Kinda wanted to just have some people weigh in instead of using a tool. I can research it myself but I like it when people share anecdotes. I got lost though

You delete it.

Yup. I should be executed in the town square

Yeah I fucked up. Promise it wasn’t on purpose I’m just sleep-deprived

Omfg I’m so embarrassed

Thought it was where you can yap about yourself, is it not?

When I was in med school assisting in circumcisions (didn’t want to, had to) the doctor said that the baby screaming was not proof that he felt pain, and demonstrated it by poking the baby and showing that he cried as a response to that. Absolutely nonsensical for a supposedly intelligent person to say. The cry was vastly different from the circ and a poke. It was an excuse not to use local anesthesia or justify the whole process I guess.
The funny part is that that when I was on OBGYN at a different hospital, and when I was at my home hospital on peds, the pediatricians did circumcisions. So I got twice as many circumcisions as my classmates. Some of them could have theoretically attended zero if their schedule was flipped and they were on peds at the OBGYN circumcising hospital and on OBGYN at the peds circumcising hospital.
I can’t understand why someone would claim someone else doesn’t feel pain. I wish we had a machine that could make someone feel for a second what you feel so that it stops being minimized or disbelieved.

Wym not all AI data centers?

Not a problem. I was just thinking you’re an interesting person with a fount of information. Nothing wrong with not wanting to chat with a stranger. I’ll be around if you change your mind but no pressure ofc.
I’m in the US but I’ve been looking into educating myself more about financial institutions and that’s why I was so curious. Plus you sounded really well-informed and I’m very close to Canada geographically and thinking about moving there so I need to learn all I can before I make that decision.

Trying not to idolize any politicians but I think he’s too good a person to run at his age. I’d be surprised if he did it. Look what Ruth Ginsberg did.
I’m consistently surprised at how differently people can behave at their ages. We sometimes have someone come in and look like they’re struggling to think and function and they’ll be 50, and then someone else comes in looking dapper and fit and even attractive and they’ll be like 85.

Lots to unpack here. This is the big thing at the moment and I’d like to know what I can. Would you be willing to talk on the phone at some point? I’ve been going through something hard and I don’t want to cry about it, but I think it would help a lot if someone smart and passionate in a subject I know little about ranted at me. Not like a formal interview, just a talk

Preciate the tips a lot. I’m currently wearing a tank top from god knows where, my brother’s old soccer t-shirt from over 15 years ago, and some sweatpants I have no idea the origin of. Doing my part lol.
I think I’ll set aside dedicated time, like 2 hours on Sunday, to carefully select clothes, so that I can look more put together. Will start with your comment, ty.

Lotta machismo too.
Very interesting, ty for giving me another perspective. I find titles onerous unless you’re working–don’t call me Dr at the corner store, I’m not gonna thank a random off-duty veteran for their service, etc–because it ranks people as though some are more worthy than others. I didn’t know that about lawyers in latin america
I’ve seen videos of Croatian tourist activities like swimming holes and ziplines and I think that may be the one. And plenty of beautiful city to cover week one. Was thinking about spending one night in Zagreb–>Split–>Dubrovnik, send the madre on her way, and then just wing it by myself once I’ve gotten the lay of the land.
If you have more specific recs I’m all ears
