Today? It’s like Lemmy but with advertising. So much more homogeneous
Might have been a while since you visited it then, it’s getting increasingly absurdly right wing - mostly bots I’m guessing. Pretty much all of the main /r/all subs

Like holy crap I can hardly imagine seeing 4 dollar-digits of liquidity in my account. In my lifetime, and I think I work hard in a role in society like anybody else.
What do you mean by 4 dollar-digits of liquidity? Like $1000? That feels a bit low unless you’re in a country where the yearly income is 1-2K.
…and then they reap returns, and go on and start businesses with “risk” (but not much, proportionally) and then publish books about “quitting the rat race and following your dreams.”
It’s even lower than you’d think. The cutoff for basically never needing to work again in your life is around $1M so top 18% of the US. At that point as long as you’re willing to live off 30-40K and invest in index funds statistically you’ll only ever get wealthier. (at least historically for the last several decades)

~600k per year
Why are you using income? It’s wealth that matters and that’s a ~$16M cutoff.
To reach that you’d need to be earning ~600k per year for 2-3 decades, to invest the majority of it, and to get absurd stock returns on top of that.

I do the same but I’ve started to add casual language to it to make it seem less AI. E.g. Rather than “likely” I’ll say “pretty likely” or “I’ve heard” or something else that doesn’t seem very AI but still conveys slight uncertainty.

While I personally think that voting democrat out of fear of the alternative is far far more harmful in the long run, I had an issue with
I think if you put the responsibility on the voters and not the coalition of politicians that claim to represent them, after a while that starts to seem less like advocacy and more like victim blaming.
Calling it victim blaming feels unfair. It acts like voters are completely innocent and are absolutely opposed to their representative’s actions. Even though some of their actions are unpopular - US voters support their politicians, police, army, etc… Look at how they react whenever anything unfortunate happens to any of them.
If you actively support and defend a system you’re kind of responsible for it’s actions even if it ignored you when you politely asked it to do something else. E.g. Despite being unjustly sentenced to death Socrates still drank Hemlock because having supported the system his entire life he had that responsibility / ethical obligation.

the US does that kind of shit now
now
You think they only started now???!
Feels a bit unproductive to just call this dehumanization. It could be that sure, but it could also be discussing a kind of real issue of people turning off their higher reasoning and just handing it all over to LLMs. People are treating anything the LLM says as an absolute source of truth and that’s incredibly dangerous as a society - they’re essentially willingly becoming literal NPCs whose thoughts are set by whoever decides whatever stances the LLMs should take.
E.g. I’ve recently seen LLMs take ultra conservative stances towards safety calling benign actions dangerous and when asked to find sources literally lie about what sources they find and cite say.
