I might be wrong, Frank, but my reading of the text says that freed slaves fall under “the whole Number of free Persons” and thus count as 1, not three fifths.

The three fifths compromise just said slave states shouldn’t get to count slave population to get more representatives. The non-slave states wanted them not to count at all, since they don’t get representation regardless. It’s wild to me that we think of the “three fifths of all other persons” thing as the bad part, rather than the “rich assholes who owned people got more representation than those who didn’t own people because the people they owned counted toward their representative allotments.” After all, the slave owners wanted slaves to count as a full person. The problem, as always, was slavery.

These are the ones I’m rotating between most right now. I’ve also got Doom (2016) and BG3 on rotation, but haven’t hit them in a while.

The Steam Deck has been such a great addition. Especially being able to stream titles like CP2077 from the PC for better graphical fidelity and battery life.

Edit: Oh! And Geometry Wars 3! It’s so good on the Steam Deck! It says “Playable” but I genuinely don’t know why, it seems completely supported as far as I can tell.

I finally got my wife hooked on Stardew Valley.

For years I’ve been trying to get her to game with me, never pushing too hard because I didn’t want to put her off the entire thing.

Recently she got laid off and picked up a part time job, so she’s had more free time. I asked her to consider playing Stardew Valley, and she said she would, but kept putting it off.

Finally one Saturday we had some free time and she agreed to give it a shot. I made popcorn, set her up with a Switch on our TV, gave her an hour or so to get started (I was willing to answer questions about controls, but wanted her to learn the game herself because I genuinely believe that’s part of the charm), then joined her with my Steam Deck (not multiplayer, just both of us playing single player).

She enjoyed it, but after that day she didn’t touch it for a while. Then I reminded her the Switch doesn’t need to be on the TV, and suddenly she was playing it every day. She’s fallen deeply into the Stardew Valley rabbit hole and I am so happy. 😁

She broke her foot recently, and when we were at the urgent care center she had the Switch and I had my Steam Deck as we were waiting. The doctor who finally saw us said we were geniuses for being so well prepared for the packed waiting room. 🤣

I could be wrong, but I don’t think the gear is the problem. It’s the foam.

As I understand it, Teflon itself is inert. It’s too big to cause us health problems. But the chemicals used to apply it, like PFOS and PFOA, those are dangerous.

That’s a really good point about the nozzles.

I don’t know if it will be faster than a tool changer (I doubt it, but I suspect the difference will be pretty negligible), but it will be much faster than swapping material the way it has been. Purging the plastic from the nozzle takes a while, especially if swapping between, say, PETG/PCTG and PLA for support purposes. Or PVA for that matter. Basically anything where mixing the filaments can compromise the structural integrity of the result you need additional purging.

The time it takes to retract filament into the AMS and then send out the new is pretty small. The longest part of the process is the purging.

Obviously a tool changer is a solid solution to this problem, but I gotta be honest I’m curious to see how this one plays out. And it never hurts to have more solutions to a problem within the industry.

That’s a smart way to do weed delivery if you can get away with it and have orders packed before you leave the house.

Pretty much every restaurant in the US will give you free tap water (with ice in it, even). At some places they’ll even just bring it to the table before you ask.

I genuinely cannot understand this “controversy” over the rebrand in any context other than manufactured outrage as a distraction from Epstein and Russia and occupying DC and every other horrible thing. Or manufactured outrage to bring attention to the brand, as I suspect the American Eagle Sydney Sweeney shit was.
