Lemmy.ml banned me on my Startrek.website account years ago during the height of my posting. Like when I was posting 20 things every hour or two. Why? Posted some Jimmy Neutron meme about Disney having a first gay character and it being the 14th one this month. Title was like “Can always be the first in China at least for a couple minutes” or something along those lines.

From what I heard from some of the people who worked on .ml behind the scenes, they had to reverse the ban because a bunch of people started asking why there was no new content and other people started to realize it was because I had gotten banned.

Have never posted on lemmy.ml since and don’t bother to interact with the instance at all. I don’t have it blocked because not all users are like the admins but like fuck am I ever adding to that shithole ever again. I thought that was the worst I’d ever deal with from admins… and then I started getting personally harassed by the startrek.website admins across multiple websites and basically forgot about lemmy.ml entirely.

Considering I live in a fuckin deep freeze, I only need to wait another couple months

We just feel differently about how or what memes add to the fediverse. It really is just a difference in philosophy. As far as I’m aware, there are no serious differences. It’s just minor. Rimu and I had a discussion about it a while back and there’s no bad blood or anything, we see things differently on the Fediverse. Rimu, from what I can tell, prefers things to be a bit more conversational and discussion based. I like things to be a blend of discussions and memes. That’s really about it.

No clue. I don’t know Ruben at all, I’ve only talked to him a couple times in passing about Boost bugs. But given the work he does on everything else, I’m just sort of assuming. Dude is a king.

Well it’s hard to put into words. Instead, I’d recommend watching this 5 minute clip from the musical Come From Away as people are screeched in after having it explained to them. Typing this out will be impossible to capture the chaos, bewilderment, bizarre traditions and wonderment that comes from my silly little island.

The musical is a Broadway musical about all the passengers on the planes that landed in Newfoundland. Small town doubled in population overnight to help everyone out and the play is about that moment and the community surrounding it. As someone who lived through that myself as I was living in the area, it’s a fantastic play.

Piefed has a few extra features that I like and I know that the couple features that are currently missing are on their way. The development team is pretty quick to respond which doesn’t affect me a ton but I don’t want to support a shitty dev team. Which then lines up with the third big reason, the Lemmy devs are transphobic assholes. If I’m going to be posting a lot then I don’t want to be doing it using what they made.

Also Fxomt is convincing.

I would also love that but I live on an island in the middle of the ocean. Tends to be a bit isolating, unfortunately.
