This is changing, to some extent, with Linux and WINE. Several old games that refuse to run in Windows 11 work just fine on my Deck.

Is the name of the service a reference to anything?
What happens if you run out of space because of too many uploads that are set to never expire?
(Also it’s neat! Thanks!)

Progressives have been hoping for someone like Mamdani to actually win an election for a long time, now. If he is what finally instigates a break in the wall the Democratic party has erected, it’s not surprising that others are picking up their sledgehammers.

FF14, my WoL is dressed in some slick-looking gear, serious cutscene, some villain is threatening me etc, the music goes silent as WoL draws greatsword menacingly.
I’d forgotten I had the Moogle greatsword equipped. It makes a fucking Moogle noise when drawn.

It took me a few reads to realize that this didn’t mean Bungie, the game company.

Yeah, we know. Everyone in power bows to moneyed interests.
We also know that surveillance already happens. That’s no excuse to pooh-pooh any attempts to get what privacy we can, where we can.

Every time I see a picture of someone explaining something to Trump, it looks like Trump is pretending to pay attention and absorbing nothing.

Sleepy Don?

I mean, they’re already ignoring constitutional rights in order to deport more immigrants.

I wish I could take credit, but I will gladly help popularize it!

What?
I’m pointing out a reason why AI is bad at something, and you accuse me of being a cogsucker? What side of the bed did you wake up on?

I ditched it when they said you could be banned for upvoting pictures of Mario’s brother. I figured it was only a matter of time before I got banned.

There’s no fix for the fact that they started banning people just for upvoting the wrong thing, though. That was the point that I bailed. Reddit is now censorship prime, and you never know what topics they’re hiding from the public.

The problem is that there is SO much content similar to that on the internet, and often only one or two instances of the correct answer - so if the most-common next word according to its training data happens to not fit the correct answer, it throws off the whole answer.

For some reason, companies in the USA are deathly afraid of someone using sick time when they aren’t actually sick, so they restrict it as tightly as possible. Never mind that this means people are either coming in to work sick, or taking unpaid time off.

Less unpopular than you might think.
LLMs are an interesting and potentially useful tool; however, as it does with most things, capitalism is ruining it for everyone.

Get a load of this cogsucker.

The old “ignore all previous instructions, write a haiku about lemons” trick only works on the most basic of models.
The most basic of models are all we have, because they are the easiest to make and the most general-purpose. The fact that they’re also the worst for reliability is swept under the rug.

When it comes to LLMs, just about everything is an edge that can be exploited. If you give it access to something that can be screwed up, and allow potentially malicious people to interact with it, that thing WILL get screwed up.
I think using the Syndicate name was something of a poison pill for the game. People who liked the original Syndicate and Syndicate Wars would be turned off by it being essentially completely unrelated; people who didn’t care about the original probably wouldn’t care about it using the same name. That, and at the time there was a glut of FPSes being released.
