Hmmm, I agree they tried to get that angle, but as someone who’s wrestled with insanity, it’s a very … sane portrayal.

Not that it’s Armisen’s fault. Fester is generally portrayed as a weirdly competent form of insane.

Given his importance to the plot, it’d take some pretty creative writing to get to properly insane but still totally useful within the same screen time. (while keeping it Disney levels of light-hearted, anyways)

The show’s pretty decent. A couple of the characters I found to be a bit uh… silly and over the top, but it didn’t really ruin it. As long as you don’t take the Adam’s Family as sacrosanct, it’s a pretty solid humor/light horror show.

I don’t recall anything that was particularly great outside of aesthetics (which Hollywood usually nails regardless of writing/etc), but I also don’t recall anything particularly gross. Except some CG scenes, but Disney has really been failing that department for quite some time on their TV shows anyways.

It’s generally in the upper tier of their shows, though, especially lately with their streaming service deluge of sludge.

  • I know this may be controversial, but I kinda’ like Fred Armisen’s portrayal in Wednesday.

I know, I know, he’s no Christopher Lloyd, but for the most part, they’re at least paying the character a bit of respect.

I wish they would’ve treated his… uhh… oddities as more than slapstick, but at least he’s not only slapstick I guess?

  • Depends what you mean by, “enjoy capitalism”.

Enjoy being able to buy what ever you can afford even if it’s something silly that you don’t really need? Sure. Also wholly possible under many other economic systems, because “capitalism” is not simply using money.

Enjoy it in that you enjoy stealing value from employees and getting unjustly rich off of their labor?

    Not so much.
