This. Those who would purposely catch these to get a nation of vegetarians like some people have mentioned would be giving people Lyme disease and other nasties that come with being bitten by a tick. These aren’t things to mess around with.

As an enjoyer of puns, I agree

Company: You need to have everything ready before the start of your shift.
Me: Do I get paid for coming in early?
Company: No
Me: Okay, if I’m starting before my shift time then I am going home early to make up for the lost time.
Company: If you leave 1 minute early we have to deduct an hour from your wages
Me: leaves
Company: nobody wants to work anymore.
Companies have normalised wage theft but call it what it is. It’s theft.
The top left one is kinda cool, ngl. Not very effective but think of the jabbing you could do with it!
Natural, healthy, positive growth! Not growth for growths sake

I think it’s a lot more because the internet was a niche. It’s something your parents/family or weird creepy uncle wasn’t on. All these old memes still feel “untouched” by facebook and it feels like an in-joke. In other words memes felt more special.
4chan was onto something, once memes became mainstream they died… a little hyperbolic but they do lose their fun factor being more popular now.
Clicking the image isn’t the issue, scrolling by it will nab your Auth tokens. Resetting your password will reset the Auth tokens protecting your account. A sign out everywhere button would fix it but that isn’t an option yet. It really needs to be.
I used Firefox… So I definitely reset my password. Thing is I do not see an option for Lemmy where you can “sign out everywhere” which is the counter to Auth token stealing.
So I had to change it so that the Auth token would expire. Whilst I am not an admin I won’t take the chance. It could compromise other users and I do not want to take that risk.
That’s even worse, if Lemmy has a vulnerability like that it needs to get fixed ASAP… Also if that code actually works, I am going to have to secure my account.
Some information I have posted to Lemmy.World:
I am not a super code-literate person so bare with me on this… But. Still please becareful. There appears to be a vulnerability.
Users are posting images like the following:
And inside hidden is JavaScript code that when executed can take cookie information and send it to a URL address.
Among other things. At this time if you see an image please click the icon circled before clicking the link. DO NOT CLICK THE IMAGE. If you see anything suspicious, please report it immediately. It is better a false report than a missed one.
I have seen multiple posts by these people during the attack. It is most certainly related to JS.
This, and the ability to use flairs would be really useful here on Lemmy. Flairing posts was such an essential way to organise posts on a lot of specific subreddits.
That kind of feature is so needed
Yeah, I can use RIF I am just not logged in which I deleted my account anyway so…
At the time I signed up Lemmy.World was pretty small, I just wanted an instance that wasn’t .ml and had better policies… As it turned out the modlog is very transparent and they were deleting posts critical of the CCP/Russia. So I left and made an account on World.
It seems World was a good choice… Although now that it struggles with the amount of users it seems it might be worth setting an alt up on another instance just to help me out when it gets too busy over here.
Can we expect to see LemmyNFTs? I would like to been seen as unique with an artificially scarce digital “collectible” that will be only worth something to the person who owns it
Damn, Karen couldn’t speak to the manager so instead they choose to pick up their own fecal matter and scrawl it over the building walls to own the store.
Instead of going about their day and barely acknowledging it they go for the pure beta energy and let it bother them to the point of going through the effort to make communities. If they had this same energy for their life, maybe they could get their shit together.
/c/lostlemmyers ?? This is mildly interesting 😉
Mildly Infuriating has nearly hit that milestone too! I am so excited for the future of Lemmy! GG everyone! 👍😄
