Ha, and it’s always something that probably gets like 4mpg.

Technology@lemmy.world•AI startup Anthropic agrees to pay $1.5bn to settle book piracy lawsuitEnglish
20·4 months agoGlad to see they have to pay up but what was different about this compared to the similar case that Meta won the other day?
It’s probably fine, but Imma leave that link blue

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Completely and utterly useless (Rufus AI by Amazon)
5·5 months agoWhen they first released it it basically had no guard rails so I had it generate a bunch of sql code and answer unrelated questions. Seems they ‘fixed’ that so it’s now completely useless.

[Migrated, see pinned post] Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•What are you having for dinner?English
2·10 months agoI made a healthy-ish chicken tikka masala. It was OK. I really need to find a good real recipe because the lighter versions I’ve been trying just aren’t scratching the itch for the real thing.
Allegedly another company has licensed the designs forom Microsoft and we’re supposed to start offering them later this year… Although there isn’t exactly much runway left this year and the only articles talk about the announcement so in January so who knows.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Skyrim Lead Designer admits Bethesda shifting to Unreal would lose 'tech debt', but that 'is not the point'English
81·1 year agoI’m gonna assume that this is because they are Microsoft now. They use a ton contractors on everything these days instead of actual employees but the catch is contractor can only stay there for 18 months and then have to leave or get hired so any experience on the project gets thrown away. Moving to unreal allows them to bring on a wider group of dev contractors so hopefully the ramp up isn’t as long. This is just a theory but the same thing happened to Halo since that’s moving to unreal to. If they just retained actual talent this wouldn’t be a problem and the games wouldnt suck as much even if engine was less advanced.

Android@lemdro.id•Motorola Razr 2023 review: not enough of a good thingEnglish
2·2 years agoI picked up a Razr Plus last week and Im really digging it. The larger outer screen is actually really useful and being able to start any app there and open it up if I need more space works really well. Keeping my fingers crossed that it lasts longer than the first few gens but at least it’s fun for now
The most recent plans included using a hotspot but now they are trying to unbundle everything on their new plans to ‘save’ you money by letting you only pay for what you want. Using a hotspot is costs $10 more a more now if you switch to the new plan. If you actually turned on everything that was already included you’d be paying more than now so you not even really saving anything either.
When this came out I went to the ends of the world to get a copy after missing out on all of the references… And then it was fine. I think it’s kinda funny know but I don’t understand how it blew up the way it did

I’ve had a few but would never pay that much. Especially after having one from McDonald’s in Maine awhile ago for like $10 that tasted exactly the same. I check every time I’m up there and it’s never been available again
