  • I do want to specify that I am not counting AI in what I am talking about. I agree AI is worse and I consider it a whole different beast than the regular brainrot any generation consumes. I love shitposts, I love stupid and surreal memes, I love the stupid cringey internet shit like Homestuck, or Skibidi Toilet, whatever. Even if I don’t actually interact with it, I love that it exists and that people are enjoying it. Its real, its human, and like it or not it is art.

AI is the antithesis of art. It is not creation for the sake of creation or expression, it is creation for the sake of consuming. It is what art has struggled and failed to escape from, and that is becoming a product to be consumed. There is no expression or soul. I admire art in all its forms when it is made by a person because they wanted to put effort into making something. Not for profit, not forfame, but because they find the process to be intrinsically valuable to them. It is something I wish to see expand to the rest of life.

AI art is shrinking that glimpse and plunging the light and hope art gives for a better world, and confines us in a dark world of consuming and producing like a sick human centipede ouroboros.

  • Me and my partner debated a lot about this because they hate skibidi toilet. I had never watched it and do not care to but I tried to tell them that skibidi toilet is no different than shit we grew up with, they just werent on that side of the internet. It is literally just a SFM video. Its no different than the shitpost tf2 sfm videos a lot of us were watching back around the 2010 and that are still being made today. Is it Pootis Enage levels of SFM cinema? No, more akin to We Like To Party. But to pretend like the brainrot we grew up with is any better than the brainrot late gen z or gen alpha are growing up with is just delusional imho. I mean look at the shit we had, like Badgers, What Does The Fox Say, and plenty more. We always had brainrot on the internet, you’re just not a child anymore. Honestly I feel like the brainrot has gotten a bit better in a certain way. Its not as bigoted as it used to be. I remember a lot of internet humor being just saying slurs, racism, ableism, and queerphobia (not to say it doesn’t exist now, but I feel it is less common). I grew up with it, I still find it funny even if I also find it distasteful, but if skibidi toilet is the worst of your concerns then I think we are gonna be fine.

Isn’t that actually canon though? Cause the first book says the answer to the life, universe, and everything is 42, but then what is the question? And I think in the second book they answer that the question is 6x7

Edit: I was wrong, its actually 6x9. Which means Litterbox Comics only read the first book and is a poser and a fake fan. Probably only watched the movie sigh /s

In my defense of failing to remember the correct question, it has been awhile since I read the books.

  • Republicans support zionists for the same reason zionists and the nazi’s cooperated, they don’t want jewish people here. Plus christian nationalists and evangelicals get the added benefit of jewish people returning to Israel is part of the rapture and second coming of Christ. They support zionism not because they like jewish people, but exactly the opposite. Zionism in of itself is an antisemitic ideology.

  • The real test wouldn’t be by making it only compete against responsible drivers, it would be by making the self driving cars compete in all the same conditions humans drive in. Humans are dangerous and unreasonable, that is the problem that self driving cars are trying to solve. However that solution is useless if it cant perform in rain, snow, and undeveloped roads. Which the reality is they cant ans end up being more unsafe than human drivers

  • I only managed to move out recently. Unfortunately there was a lot of damage done to our relationship prior to me moving out, and its damage I don’t believe he is aware is there. Even if it is, neither of us are eager to confront it. I still visit, and try to do it about bi-weekly (distance being the main factor), but it always feels awkward and I don’t think that will go away until the current state of America improves or we take the effort to fix the issues. Further unfortunately, I worry that he won’t change and that is a huge barrier to mending our relationship.

Our relationship is in a really difficult spot. If we don’t try and work through it and just keep skirting around things and avoiding the problem things will never improve and it will always be awkward around him. But if we confront things, there is a good likelyhood things will end up worse than they already are

  • This has been my experience. Before I got old enough to develop my own political beliefs, my dad barely if ever talked about politics and he was a very supportive and loving father. Then I started developing my political beliefs and coincidentally that was around when Trump was running for his first term and it started going downhill from there. He was still a loving and supportive father, but his politics and mine did not align and that started creating a lot of division between us. Neither of us can handle talking about politics around each other, but it is becoming harder and harder to avoid.

I’m gonna approach this with good faith because I am assuming you are trying to. No on is immune to propoganda, you are not immune to propoganda and neither am I. Pretending political extremes are inherently and equally bad is in of itself is propoganda. Politics is an important aspect of life, it impacts a lot of people in serious ways. Invalidating that because someone is emotional about it is kinda fucked up. Like yeah a queer person is going to be emotional about politics because their identity is under attack due to politics. Many aspects of life are political, things that people are often times passionate about or otherwise deeply impact them.

Secondly leftist, like myself, believe what we believe because the current status quo is unfair and hurting people. We are striving to make the world a more free and fair place. So yeah, when someone says they are a centrist (which effectively means supporting the status quo), then that is to us opposing progress to a more free and fair society. To us it is saying that the people harmed by the status quo are either not real, don’t matter, or that that harm is a good thing.

I aint gonna say every leftist is built the same. There are a lot with very harmful beliefs. But you are lumping everyone together cause you feel their politics are too extreme and erasing all the nuance. And also lumping us in with groups that we hate and have completely different goals, morals, etc. Fascists and communists are not the same just because they are both extreme. Do some communists really blur that line? Yeah, they are called tankies and I fucking hate them.

This is all to say, shitting on people for simply having extreme politics is erasing a lot of nuance and in of itself is propoganda to help support the status quo.

Edit: nvm dude’s a nazi chud pretending to be a centrist. Fucking coward
