    Everyone is all freaked out about milk and burgers, when we should really be more concerned about the wild birds and rodents that are living in close proximity with humans.

      Should we? Don’t you need to be in close contact for transmission? I don’t know about you, but I’m usually not all that close to the birds and rodents in my neighborhood. They tend to see humans and go the opposite direction.

     “USDA is confident that the meat supply is safe.  USDA has a rigorous meat inspection processand “multiple safeguards in place to protect consumers,” the agency said in a statement sent to media outlets on Monday.
    
    “We recommend consumers properly handle raw meats and cook to a safe internal temperature,” which kills bacteria and viruses in meat, the agency added.
