The sad part of me is in knowing another familiar face in my life is gone.

I grew up in the 90s watching TNG and it was Patrick Stewarts performance that made it so captivating, fun and enjoyable. He was a Shakespearean actor who brought so much emotion, energy and honesty to the show that it made it feel real and other worldly to young people. I didn’t know it at the time, all I knew was that I just thoroughly enjoyed watching the show without really knowing why. I didn’t fully understand why until later in life.

And in watching him over the years, he became a very familiar part of my life and I am sure it felt the same for so many other people. The sadness is not in losing a character from a show or a movie … it’s in losing a familiar face that felt like they were part of your circle of family or friends.

    My condolences to you all.
