A nondescript man says to the audience “the best thing we ever did for our town is putting someone with a storm fetish in our emergency alert center”
Sat at a desk, wearing a headset and reading from a monitor, a character whispers to themselves “oh fuck a storm”
They begin quivering and biting their lip. “Category 5!?”
Outside, a speaker blares “uuuuuuuuuuuooooooh” in the storm fetishist’s voice.
I’ve heard this idea before, but it was related to plumbing, but it could feasibly be anything a person could hyperfixate on. You’ve got people in this world that find the most boring, mundane, and sometimes straight-up bad tasks the most riveting thing they’ll ever experience. Instead of nurturing that with training and a job, the square peg gets shaved down enough to fit in the round hole.
My priest is like this. Bring up some niche thing from Church history and he immediately begins infodumping, recommending books, if not fetching them from a library to show you.
Reminds me of a YouTube channel. Guy is the most positive (and Australian) plumber. Makes it very amusing to watch.

Then I cought the 2nd movie on TV. Actually pretty cool. Liked it even though I haven’t seen the first one yet

Sorry, tend to forget about this app. It’s actually a really cool city! Lived there growing up and I miss it. Really cool science center, or was when I was young. One of the most picturesque cities, especially night time, coming out of one of the tunnels. Beautiful.
