“People who live on a volcano are more worried about it erupting than the rest of the world.”
Ironically, the US is also home to one of several supervolcanoes that could destroy civilization
Not to fret!
The guardliest guardrail of volcano stopping super stoppers and MAGMA, that’s just a letter away from maga which, you know, is really a guard AGAINST the crazy radical left antifa volcano supporting dummycrats. And that’s why POTATO.
~some orange guy.
Americans don’t have effective social safety nets. They are eliminating a lot of what we do have. I guess we have to pay for Israel’s socialized health care, education, and genocide somehow.
We’re living on pins and needles to fund demons.
A country with a service based economy is allowing tech bros and billionaires to ram a new technology down the throats of the entire population with little to no oversight. People have already lost jobs because of layoffs after their company replaced them with ai. Americans are worried about their livelihood and the dangers the data centers pose to their communities.
We have way fewer consumer and worker safeguards, not to mention seemingly unrestricted political ads. All the use of AI to imitate political candidates has been very dystopian.
I was excited about AI until American billionaires forcefully shoved it down our throats and every company started drooling and putting AI “features” (bugs) everywhere.
my theory: i feel like the first wave of any product is overhyped and has less accountability to deliver.
"Hoverboards (2015) The “self-balancing scooter” became a global sensation almost overnight, with demand skyrocketing across retail and online markets. Because manufacturers rushed to meet this sudden explosion in demand, quality control was ignored. This led to a wave of defective lithium-ion batteries that frequently overheated and caught fire, resulting in massive recalls and bans in several countries.
The Segway (2001) Before its release, the Segway was shrouded in extreme secrecy and hype, with some predicting it would “change the way cities are built.” When it finally launched, the reality didn’t match the excitement; it was too bulky for sidewalks, too slow for roads, and far more expensive than consumers were willing to pay for its actual utility. "
straight off the top of my head… Blu-ray . everyone said it was better. it triggered the need to have “the latest greatest tech” but now… i dont even know how that would have benefited me, personally. it would have been more rational if they had a more tangible benefit… like a smaller disk.
also gameboy. …however i cant think of any criticism aside from costing alot.

The American stock market is disproportionately inflated by AI. Without it, the recession would be evident. When number go up, people keep jobs. When numbers go down, unaffected management lays people off just in case.
Also, no worker protections, boss could decide tomorrow you’ve been replaced with an AI. Whether it works or not is his problem but feeding yourself and family remains yours.
The AI industry is:
- Propping up our entire economy and retirement savings
- removing our ability to buy electronics of any kind
- designed to replace workers without a safety net
- Designed to watch us all and filter our informarion
So, with the fascist government’s help, they’re building a giant pantopticon while taking away our information freedom, while they siphon away whatever wealth we have until we can’t live anymore, under the threat of total and permanent annihilation if we make it fail.
Yeah, they’re turning the whole country into a concentration camp. If they keep power, expect Border controls. Why do you think ICE gets more money than all other agencies?
- Propping up our entire economy and retirement savings
It’s not “propping up the economy”. The stock market is not the economy. If anything, AI is dragging the actual economy down further.
designed to replace workers without a safety net
It’s not really capable of that except in a few tasks. For programmers, a lot of companies have overhired over Covid and have been looking for excuses to downsize without looking bad to investors, especially with the economy in recession. AI is mainly a convenient excuse for that
I think Americans can clearly see conservative leaders and oligarchs want to use AI to oppress us.
Americans have more exposure to AI. The rest of the world will come around.
AI caused layoffs too.
It’s because we have the worst possible people to steward us though this transition that is being forced on us.
Zero protections for employees paired with the fact most Americans are living paycheck to paycheck while the C suite keeps firing people to pay for their AI adoption. I understand why Americans are concerned.
Lots of inconclusive data IMO. Seem cherry picked in a lot of ways. The most interesting bit to me was that a study conducted by Microsoft acknowledges Palestine as a country. Genuinely surprised me.
They should be more worried about Super Intelligence.
Don’t call it that. We should not cater to the renaming whims of a fascist.
I was just joking because it was such a pointless thing to rename
That wasn’t very clear from your message.
You can use tone tags to make it more obvious when your messages are meant to be interpreted a certain way. For example, /j for joking or /s for sarcastic.
I am glad you were joking.
Don’t feed the AI bro hype
How about Subpar Intelligence?
Most pf the wprld knows it’s pure bullshit
Only Americans are propagandized enough to be afraid of AI slop
Americans are seeing the actual repercussions of those massive data centers being forced into their communities and stealing their water and power first hand. They’re being force to use that trash at work and then fix their constant fuckups on shorter time-frames than they used to be given to build the thing normally - because executives are the ones slurping up the actual propaganda that LLMs are actually useful for much of anything. They’re the ones being fired because their bosses think a probabilistic word generator can replace a thinking human.
its the massive layoffs, AI has been causing the layoffs for like 3 years already. now we see people even complaining about the universities they graduating from.
