      My cat was like that, when it was all quiet after lunch we knew she was trying to eat something leftover in the kitchen

      I used to have a cat where the house rule was “no cats on the kitchen counter”.

      Well … Ok, no cats on the kitchen counter when I’m in the room.

      … If I see you on the kitchen counter, I’ll scoop you up and set you on the floor?
