Released on a reissue of ‘Take A Picture’ and later on ‘25 Demos’ in 2001. The latter is 'a collection of various demo recordings from the 1960s & 1970s. Discogs attributes this song to 1972.
Guryan was mostly a songwriter — first in jazz, then in pop music — apparently due to a disliking for performing and singing. She released just one album as an artist, ‘Take a Picture’ in 1968, and never toured “having been married to a jazz musician and having seen too much – performing required an agent, and a manager and a lawyer and a booking person and… you got owned by these people – they told you where to go, how to look, how to dress, what to say, and I didn’t want that!”
This is unlocking some long-repressed memories (none bad!) of having heard her stuff or owned one of the reissues briefly. The name is hard to forget.
It’s kinda odd that she released so little stuff. She was a good songwriter, but recorded just one album and some demos herself, by her own decision.
