This is both a rant and is probably a wild suggestion, but would there be any way to disable downvotes when sorting by new?

I ask this because I have noticed many times when posting in very niche communities, that posts will immediately get 2-3 downvotes for no reason other than it must be people viewing All/New or Local/New downvoting because they don’t like it.

Hear me out, why should you be allowed to downvote this? If you are not a member of that community, then that content wasn’t for you in the first place so why should the vote counts of that community be affected by those sorting by New.

My suggestion would be to not have a downvote button when sorting by New, if someone really wants to downvote a thing they should have to go to that post and do it, hopefully seeing what community it is in and coming to whatever senses that them “not liking it” is irrelevant to the community it was posted in.

Just a thought and wasn’t entirely sure where to post this.
