There’s literally a bestselling book about why this was a terrible idea the last time around. Apparently none of the lawmakers were aware of it. I don’t expect them to actually read the book, but they could at least get the audiobook.

Again??? Do people have collective fucking amnesia? Massive tax cuts failed horribly a decade ago and ruined Kansas’ growth. Trying it again is just batshit.

It was only twelve years ago they tried The Kansas Experiment, which failed so miserably they got rid of it a mere 5 years later in 2017. Mysteriously, doing the same thing has the same results.

PSA, in 2021 Kansas received about $7.1 Billion in aid from the federal government, accounting for about 16.8% of its annual revenue. Cutting taxes at home with your hand out for federal funds is kinda BS.

It’s socialism and a handout and they know it, but are too ignorant and entitled to change anything.

I’ve thought before that this would be a great way to push back against Trump.

Have every democratic state withhold federal funding (in a separate account, ready to pay) until basic human rights and constitution clauses(???) are upheld.

I can virtually guarantee that most democratic states are financially supporting republican states… and that’s socialism.

Amazing that the state that is the poster child for “destroying your economy with aggressive tax cuts” is like “Surely this time Reagan will rise from the grave and bless us with his divine power.”

Has there ever been a case where tax cuts genuinely helped a country/state/whatever’s economy?

It can be argued that the Kennedy tax cuts paid for themselves. Other examples like the Baltic states that switched to a flat income tax and sales tax is more due to moving to something simple and more difficult to cheat.

Other than that, Laffer (famous for the Laffer Curve which was foundational to trickle down economics) and apparently the Kansas legislature are the only ones that think tax cuts for the rich help.
