  • Yes it can be predatory people that age don’t go for other 40 year olds, they go for the younglings.

When the person with money is old, fragile and mentally declining a young person could also be a predator.

Mentally challenged people could be in a vulnerable position all of their life.

Many relationships can be predatory/manipulative/toxic problematic age gap relationships are just very common and obvious. Also if you are 40 dating as young as legally possible you would probably go younger and thats creepy as fuck.

  • If you are over 30 you should understand. I work with a lot of young people and their vulnerability is 100% obvious to anyone with a moral compass.

Sute they can be smart, witty and intelligent even tough but there is absolutely a power imbalance. I talk a lot with them and it is insane how much differnce there is between us and how much they trust us older people and believe us. It would be very easy to manipulate them, even on accident.

I am sure there are some relationships with a bigger gap that aren’t predatory but in general it absolutely is a red flag.

  • See thats another reason why i don’t have kids, its an mlm. After i am done with the hamsterwheel, my kids can jump in and would be caught up in it to care for me? No thanks.

People working with the old know very well that having kids will not guarantee you actual help when you are old, which often is just dew to circumstance and not even malice.

There are some positives to having kids, most of them emotional but they are objectivly a very bad deal in all other aspects.

  • You would have to believe that people are willing to sacrifice to protect their communities but people aren’t even willing to look at windmills to protect their communities from climate change. Which does not mean they don’t want to keep their community as it is, they might just be to afraid and/or selfish to join themselves.

If people were guided by some intristic “goodness” we wouldn’t have such a shit society in the first place.

  • Meh people aren’t really known to do the “right” thing if they would we wouldn’t have had war in the first place. Also people might be fully supportive of a war but don’t want to get their hands dirty themselves.

The natural conclusion would be that any country forcing its people to fight will probably have an advantage over any country that doesn’t and if that country overtakes you you get conscripted anyway.

  • No!

I am not one of the people who say you can’t possibly give consent while under the influence BUT everyone has the obligation to NOT DO anything to a person that they might not like.

If you fuck a drunk person and than that person says you raped them you did not make sure they were able to really consent.

For this specific case you don’t seem to have the empathy to understand, a person who is so drunk that they were not able to consent in the first place than them saying yes or no to specific acts has like no meaning at all.

If you have ever been blackout drunk you should be able to imagine that saying no or yes really loses all meaning in that situation.

  • Maybe don’t call them assholes for that.

I am not from tge US but it’s so frustrating, we really shouldn’t support this infighting. Anyone still supporting Israel IS disgusting, people are rightfully pissed of about this.

I still believe that there is no way forward other than voting Dem but the infighting and namecalling and belitteling of each other is infuriating.

This really just feels like another devide method of the ruling class.

If you want to beat the Rep you need more solidarity in the left wing and this starts by communicating like adults.

We really need to distinguish between “stupid” opinions and “stupid” people.

Very smart people can hold very stupid opinions in some aspects and the average person will certainly hold some stupid ass opinions not necessarily restricted to “spirituality”.

My uncle was top of his class but fell for every mlm he encounterd, my dad is a capable businessman but believes a cut up onion in the window will get all viruses out of the air. I have so many examples like that.

So half of women aren’t stupid but probably 100% of all people hold at least one stupid “believe” i think.

Not the people, industries do that.

People are very good at adopting whatever and thats mostly fine. Nobody is forced to partake in the corporate stuff. I also think its a bit unfair to westerners, we would like some culture too and we would not like to be restrained to christianity or the celtic stuff (that i personally like) but is very popular with nazis as well. In general living in the middle of europe everything native to my culture always feels a bit right wingey which many obviously dislike.

Being part of a foreign religion doesn’t make it non bullshitty though. I will not just shit on any religion that i didn’t grow up with but you can’t argue that there aren’t people everywhere commercializing and using religion in their own interest.

    Its really not that easy.

Don’t be a dick and let others be their kind of weird is in general good advice but you can make fun of someone without being a dick and “their kind of weird” might turn into something harmful.

It might be okay, not okay or there might even be a need to ridicule certain ideas depending on the situation.

If don’t think it is reasonable to expect the public to entertain any ridiculous idea at all times, if you want to voice your believes/opinions you will have to let others do the same and they might not be nice about it. But lets be honest here a lot of “believes” aren’t that nice themselves so…

  • I don’t think this means they are actually pulling out.

Its unclear to me if the 36% is bc they already have the tech so they don’t plan to invest further and new adoption don’t happen bc everyone who “needs” it already has it or if the ones who have it are planning to get rid of it.

To me it just sounds like the people at the top didn’t foresee the problems that actually arise in a real world setting and their overconfidence gets adjusted to a more reasonable outlook but the self checkout will not go anywhere, 36% is still a pretty big number, self checkout might just not be feasible for a lot of places in the first place.

I see it being implemented in more places not less, they are just finetuning it now.

  • The sexualization is not a problem on its own the objectification that often comes along with it is as well as the “unspoken” rule that only allows conventionally attractive people to be viewed in a sexual context.

People don’t lose their personhood by being, acting or shown in a sexual context but many do absolutely not view it that way.

The problem i see is that since this mostly happens in visual media without context all meaning it could have is more often than not lost. If sexual content was created with a positive attitude we would see much more diversity. It is very obvious that it caters to people objectifying the protagonists and therefore its not that easy to blatantly approve of it.

This should off course not translate to shaming people in general but it should trigger nuanced debate and action.

Thats why you hammer safe sex into them and that casual encounters are worth your consideration as well. This isn’t a one time discussion, it should be ongoing. It helps if you treat sex like something normal so the kids don’t feel stupid putting on a condome and respect EVERYBODY not just the “good girls” that
