I’m fairly certain there’s a panel missing here, as I believe they would need to hold hands to get pregnant.

You’re thinking of in-person private sales. You can buy a gun from another person directly without a check (in some states). This still carries some risks as you’d have to prove this transaction if the gun turns up in a crime and you get pointed at in one way one or another.
Gun dealers carry a massive risk for skipping the check and anyone who needs to skip a check to buy a gun is going to know they won’t be approved, and they both get the axe if either party gets caught - So its a lose-lose deal that will rarely get taken.

Is there weird compression or did the artist intentionally change up her eyes from the original?
Edit: Actually her hands are funky in some of these panels, did this get crunched through an AI filter?

Linux@lemmy.world•Why do servers and supercomputers primarily run on Linux and not on some Microsoft/Apple/Google/Amazon OS?English
3·6 days agoI must admit, I’ve been too far removed from the volume licensing to remember how it worked. It was definitely cheaper than retail and I remember 2016 and beyond you paid by 2 physical cores each, at least for datacenter.
All I recall was that they changed the licensing terms twice in ~5 years, and the forced minimum of ~500 users for enterprise put one of my past employers into a bind.
I would not be surprised if they had changed it once or twice since.

Linux@lemmy.world•Why do servers and supercomputers primarily run on Linux and not on some Microsoft/Apple/Google/Amazon OS?English
15·6 days agoThis is true, but as I recall the minimum users you need to get an enterprise agreement license is ~500 users. So you’re already talking over 6 figures to have the option to buy cheaper server OS licenses.

90·6 days agoA big piece is licensing. When you’re throwing hundreds or thousands of processor cores into a data center, somewhere a Microsoft VAR is just drooling to sell you datacenter license packs that you’ll need to renew/repurchase for every major OS upgrade. Ah, and you’ll need device/user cals. Oh you want to manage it too? Oof.
For awhile I was weirdly confident the whole mirror vision thing was revealing she was actually a clone.
I was pretty disappointed at the actual reveal.

49·15 days agoI set up a SteamLink app onto a Raspberry Pi but I ran into a bug and couldn’t get it to work correctly. Valve acknowledged that they were looking into fixing it but after a few weeks of checking, I just put it aside and forgot about it.
Well nearly a year later, the thought randomly popped into my head that I should check to see if they had fixed it. I went to the Steam Link section of Steam’s forum, and sure enough, one of Valve’s devs had posted a new version that fixed the issue.
… 30 seconds prior to me checking the forum.
I’ve never had something like that align so perfectly, but also for something so ridiculous as that.
We did the second time we ran into each other. The third time was more or less silent concern.
I ran into someone I went to high school with three times in one day. All different locations, all outside of our hometown.
First time it was kinda funny. Third time was a little awkward lol.
