People have been accusing China of fabricating the data for years. I am sure there is inaccurate information, but no more so than anywhere else. If they were doing it to the level they are accused, their real economy and the phantom economy they created would be so disparate after 40 years of staggering growth that it would be obvious without unfounded accusation.

China seems to be doing very well at managing supply and moving their economy in strategically advantageous ways, while lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty and raising the living standards of hundreds of millions more. They also seem to be good at holding billionaires accountable. Unfortunately, their human right record and respect of minority cultures within China and outside China is awful. I wouldn’t want to live in China. I also wouldn’t want to live in the USA. If I was to be born poor or middle class, I’d prefer to be born in China, there would be more oppurtunity.

I lost faith in people’s goodness around Covid times. I think it’s purely self interest, just like Covid. If they can’t eat and are angry, violence ensues. We’ve seen it throughout history. It’s why bread and circuses exists as a meme. The circus part is meant to satisfy blood lust or redirect anger.

Unfortunately for trump, the only circus is him and his cronies. Food prices are going to rise around the same time jobs are lost. Usually job losses leads to lower inflation, but in this case, it’s going to be caused by the reduced oil and thus reduced fertiliser. That’s the slow burn that will take a year to play out.

Many people are beaten down, physically, financially and metaphorically. However, at a certain point, they fight back.

When everyone else seems OK but you’re not, you dkbt fight back as you’ll get arrested. When everyone else is fighting too, you join in! There becomes a tipping point.

Only issue I have isbthatbforba party that wanted independence, thrybseemed to have no actual plan after the referendum. What would happen to pensions, government services, national insurance contributions etc. Now they won’t get a vote for years again and that’s after brecit, which was a reason to stay. There’s idealism and there’s competency!

It works only while alternative options of employment remain available. Even if they are lower paid. In fact that’s better for them. However, when the employment rate drops, that’s when people get desperate. Desperate people do desperate things.

I understand they charge for the information. So, they profit off it, too. As do the data brokers. Of course, the lettered agencies are paying with our money.

That’s fair but when tories are awful for generations, Labor are centre right at this point and lib Dems are useless and trust evaporates instantly, it limits your options.

They propose changing green party policy on energy to be more practical than idealist.

When the green party is a minor party, being idealistic is more important. It helps to guide the policy of bigger parties to prevent losing votes to them. When they are bigger or wish to be involved in government, practical reasonable policy is more important.

Regarding immigration, open borders can be the final ideal and that can be in a phased way. There is no problem with higher immigration if there are the resources to deal with it. In fact its a benefit for the host country and the immigrant, usually. Most economic migrants come seeking work not handouts. Most economic migrants work the jobs that locals don’t want to work. It does have a downward effect on wages, though.

Like everything, gradual change to ideal policy is usually the best way forwards.
