well obviously advices usually don’t apply in all circumstances. you are very surprised about the concept of something sometimes not being appropriate.

1·4 小时前I don’t get it. the point was, they do that even when it’s hotter outside. I’m probably missing something, but there was another post recently where OP was furious that they couldn’t keep the window open, and I didn’t get that either.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something you no longer buy due to intrusive, insidious technology being added into it?English
2·2 天前only thing that means is ypu don’t know what else is it doing in the background. you are operating in “what I don’t see doesn’t exist” mode
smaller providers are not so brave and quick with bans, or it would hurt their image. big providers don’t need to care about their image anymore.

31·4 天前But like. It’s fine. You can turn most of the annoying stupid shit like copilot off.
you can turn most of it off… by hunting the internet for the right tools for that. Because built in settings certainly don’t allow disabling the majority of it. until they turn them back on with an update.
and the rest you just can’t turn off, or can’t reasonably discover.windows is not fine. that ended with windows 7.
now me too, I don’t know what happened. but in the past few weeks it was always like that

7·4 天前I don’t think there is any use in reducing all internet conversations to just seeking social acceptance. you could just apply that to all conversations whatsoever. then why speak with others, and why go out of the house, it’s all just seeking fame or whatever right?
I don’t think it works that way.

I’m curious why does it need a hypervisor, and why only on slightly older machines.
