Games@lemmy.world•Videogame pirates tell other pirates to shut up about it after Subnautica 2 developers are taunted with illicit copiesEnglish
2·19 days agoI am. I run cachyos which I run most of my steam games from. If I pirate something I do it in a VM to test it out, and if I like it then I buy it on steam/GOG.
The VM has very little performance loss either because they’re just that good now or because I have a pretty good pc I’m not sure. I also run games like BanderLord in a VM so I can mod with vortex. (Yes the setup is very stupid, but it’s a glass castle and I’m scared to move anything)

43·20 days agoThere are relatively few people who “crack” the games and the community around it is very verbal. Some people go deep on inspecting things, and if something gets found they’re added to a list of untrusted sources. From what I’ve seen it’s hard to get that trust back.
So yeah it’s definitely a risk, but not a super dangerous one. Especially if you use Linux and a VM
Man I forgot how slick XFCE looked
You gotta look into the open source community. They can handle this super easy

Idk what this is but it looks so freaking good
Edit: I know now and I’m definitely adding this on my laptop
The give away to me is the dresser. Everything else is too blurred to tell. I’m guessing that’s on purpose
I’m proud to say I don’t understand
Ubuntu Touch seems like a decent option, but graphineOS seems much more complete. I would definitely recommend keeping an app store though. Security updates are important.
Older pixel phones run relatively cheap if you don’t mind having an older model. Mine was still locked by my ISP, but I used their insurance plan and they sent me an unlocked one lol
Right they can print the money to pay their debts… What happens then? Inflation. Guess who’s waiting there willing to help with that.
Literally the entire world exploits poor countries. They don’t do anything with charitable intentions.
- identity economically struggling countries
- offer cheap vital infrastructure with high intrests
- country can’t pay it back
- now you own them.
US is bad, China is bad, Russia is bad, EU is mostly bad. Fuck it let’s move to the moon

1·2 months agoI’ve never used any CLI BitTorrent apps so I’m not familiar with aria2c. That being said, I’ve had no problems with qbit on windows or Linux. Try checking your settings to use if you’re binded to your vpn, if that doesn’t work then there’s other applications like Transmission that are good. If that still doesn’t work then most “linux ISOs” have a direct download option
