It was a bad joke because there’s people that genuinely think these things.

Finland is not in Russia or Ukraine. Worry only about the finances part.
a large portion understands Swedish
Absolutely not the case, except for some Swedish speaking regions that are only a tiny part of the country and consist of villages and small towns.
Like 90% of Finns can’t even have simple conversations in Swedish.
which would also be the reason why everyone would naturally hate me.
Why would “everyone” hate you?

Think what you want of his views, but he has the patience of a saint, even when people are screaming at him.
An exemplary user in the Fediverse.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some Lemmy (non-ML) hive mind things that you don’t agree with?
1·3 days agoThey used to market themselves as a leftist instance, but for some reason they’ve made it less clear later on.
I figured the domain was a leftover from the past.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some Lemmy (non-ML) hive mind things that you don’t agree with?
72·4 days agoML has just as much of a right to ban political dissidents from their comms as any other instance. Explicitly leftist instances exist for a reason and you don’t have to interact with them if you don’t agree.
I think the problem is that .ml doesn’t market itself as a leftist instance (anymore), and there’s nothing in the instance rules to imply that non-M-L aren’t allowed.

From what I’ve seen, if there’s even a slightly annoyed tone in the dissenting comment or post, they ban for rule 2, even if there’s another person in the thread screaming at them calling them all kinds of nonsense (but with the “correct” political opinion). Being disrespectful on .ml is fine, if you’re saying the right things.
If the person is incredibly polite, they often ban for rule 1 anyway.

Fair enough, I couldn’t find that article.
here’s enough of a lag to disallow for common action games
Lag is different from a lack of speed, which that person claimed. Lag = latency, nothing to do with speed.
You’re remarkably antagonistic for a Lemming. Are you sure you’re not a Musk-shill or a bot?
I really really really hate this redditor style tendency to call everyone who corrects facts they want to believe in a shill or a bot. I couldn’t have made it more clear that I’m not a Musk fan:
I hate this as much as you do, but come on, don’t make shit up.
It’s just that I’m overly concerned with facts, likely due to my neurodivergence. These kinds of comments feels kind of ableist, although that again is probably something I might get shit on for, as you’re not supposed to call out ableism on this platform.
I don’t understand this bot thing either. I haven’t seen a single one of these bots you’re talking about. Repost bots, sure, but agenda pushing bots? The entities that push that stuff clearly aren’t interested in this platform yet. On Reddit it’s very obvious.

1115·6 days agoit’s not fast enough for gaming
Dawg, you need like a 5 megabit connection for online gaming, if even that. Starlink offers multiple times that at the minimum.
I can understand it being too slow for many things, but gaming is one of the worst examples you could’ve possibly given.
Couldn’t find a reliable source for the 250,000 figure. The closest thing I could find was 50,000 in 2025.
I hate this as much as you do, but come on, don’t make shit up.

Not the case here in Finland, for example.
Yes, this is true, Marx wanted all Jews to die.

21·13 days agoI mean, that guy looks like a body builder and he’s using specific equipment and a technique to use all of his muscles to pull the train a few meters. Impressive, but it’s not relevant.
Pushing uses way less muscles and those people are supposed to be starving.
With maybe two dozen people for one carriage it could be even not totally exhausting work.
Yeah, if the train was wide enough. Trains aren’t wide enough to accommodate two dozen people pushing it from the back. They’re quite narrow, actually.

171·14 days agoI’m sure her talking about North Koreans having to push trains sometimes is just a language barrier issue.
Definitely not her making stuff up because she knows that she can say pretty much anything she wants because it’s very hard to disprove whatever she says. Definitely not making a lot of money from stealing the spotlight from people who have real stories about suffering in North Korea that deserve attention more than her bullshit. No no, North Koreans are special people who can push trains that weigh thousands of tons AND can do it while starving to death. :D

4·18 days agoChina is barely smaller than the US, and what you think is a unified Chinese language is actually a bunch of mutually unintelligible languages in a trench coat.
The cultural differences between regions in the US are usually much smaller than ones in China.
The most obvious examples of this are the regions of Xinjiang and Tibet.

Did you just downvote your own comment?
.ml admins delete comments and give out instance bans for saying the wrong opinion.
Hmm, could be, or maybe they switched to a different kind of vaccine in the later years?
