Southern Company’s public notice specifies the type of data involved. “Based on our investigation to date, the limited customer account information that the unauthorized party gained access to includes the customer’s name, mailing address, phone number, email, or the last 4 digits of their Social Security Number, and other basic account details,” the notice reads.
The utility says the attacker did not access bank account numbers, payment card numbers or driver’s license numbers.
Is it normal for US utilities to have Social Security or Drivers License details?!

Must be the last few now…
Depends…
If someone’s just arrived home, the freezer door’s open, etc, then I’m using Home Assistant to speak / flash a light / etc.
If a device fails, then Uptime Kuma sends via to ntfy & gotify (I’m trying both atm to decide on one)
If it’s something I’ve (not) done, then my partner tells me (arms folded, stern look)
I’m currently running both to decide which to use, what made you pick ntfy?

Someone took Arch added some packages & configs and is now making $$$$

If only they’d had a 15 character minimum password length… (/s)
Not yet 🙂
Both services work well, but the (Android) app is also a consideration… Gotify appears to keep losing the connection, but as I have different alerts going via different routes I need to sit down and spend some quality time with these, which I don’t have at the moment.

Excellent article
I have a few “Adriana” / “Furio” models around the place… looks like I’ll try something else next time!

Thanks for the link list, I coud read what was interesting to me instead of the whole thing

I quite fancy a FP6 / FP6+, but unfortunately my FP3+ is still going strong with it’s 2nd battery and 2nd USB port (due to cheap cables wearing it out), so I’ll probably have to keep using it for another few years… 😉

However, it does necessitate that the attacker run local code and manipulate JIT-compiled cBPF programs, meaning it is not a direct remote network attack.
So, a form of privilege escalation as access is required.
Uptime Kuma if I want something to alert me (still trying to decide between ntfy & gotify)
Home Assistant is also checking some stuff
Watchdog to reboot my Raspberry Pi Zeros when they fall off the wifi
Smokeping for a general, long term feel of the network, which might answer your bonus question?

I know I’ll get downvoted for this, but what’s the problem?
I see a screenshot of Dell diagnostics running fine
Dell BIOS updates come with a checksum to prevent corruption issues, whether it’s installed via Dell’s software, Microsoft Updates or Linux fwupd… I don’t think I’ve had a corruption in ~20 years of using Dell equipment.
I have seen settings reset to defaults before - which was mentioned in the release notes…

That’s a business line of thinking… sanctions / government censorship overrides it. ( I agree, there’d be a LOT of shouting from the CEOs)

Yeah, I get it. I do think containers encourage lazy integration - could be hard coded paths, or things like leaving apt in there, so no worries.

No, they’d just block non-US internet traffic (& VPNs…)

If you’re using Arch, Immich is in the AUR, that’s how I’m running it bare metal.
It is a Semicolon
