  • Idk, I do give Nancy Pelosi some credit for reigning Trump in before he could do as much damage as he had planned during his first term (because a lot of the shit we’re seeing now was actually quietly set into place long before Project 2025). I genuinely wouldn’t define her as a conservative, but I guess it depends on how you define conservative.

There are a lot of shadowy industry people who dump money into both sides of politics to promote the policies that will make them more money, and hinder the policies that stand in their way, but they don’t really hold any sort of left/right political bias. It’s just about serving their immediate self interest. But the people I consider true conservatives aren’t just selfish. They truly see themselves as a dominant masterclass meant to keep their very strict heirarchies in place.

I definitely don’t think Pelosi is above helping a conservative policy advance if she’s instructed to do so by her wealthy donors, but this is because she has an incentive to gain from it in the short term. The willingness to always chase the short term incentive being dangled in front of them while ignoring the cliff they’re walking towards, is exactly what has allowed conservative policies to gain such a strong foothold in America. But, I don’t think Pelosi or (even most Republican voters) would really want to live in a conservative society where their position in that society has been predetermined in the conservative “natural” heirarchy.

Conservatives like to publicly focus on identity politics, but the truth behind their love of heirarchies is the fundamental conservative belief that some people (women, people of color, non-WASPs, and the entire working class) were born to be oppressed and exploited in a society dominated by elites. They use the state to enforce these rules, and protect themselves from competition, but they honestly believe they have been pre-ordained with a “natural” place at the top of the heirarchy.

Not to dismiss the long list of very atrocious things people like Pelosi, others in congress, and Republican voters have been willing to look the other way on, but I do honestly think many have been intentionally misled about identity politics, the “war on woke,” or police militarization and how it actually relates to their own self interest and place in that heirarchy. I also know there will always be a handful of people who are so stubbornly contrarian and narcissistic, they will literally cut off their nose to spite their face then offer it to the leopards to save them the trouble.

However, if you really forced the Edmund Burke and Heritage Foundation elite conservatives to candidly explain to America and the blue collar voters they pander to, how they view themselves and their role in society vs how they view those blue collar Republican voters, a much smaller percentage would be willingly supporting their own exploitation, or agreeing to help create an undemocratic society where any chance of social mobility for themselves or their children has been completely eliminated. Especially if you really got them to acknowledge what they hope to achieve by combining traditional anti-egalitarian conservative ideals about heirarchies with the dystopian Palantir tech fantasy.

Not only is your data your destiny, your destiny starts being collected and analyzed before you’re even born. Did your mom smoke when she was pregnant or work in a factory around dangerous chemicals? That’s probably why you did X instead of Y when you were 4, and now as an adult you’re ineligible for Z. You’re born poor because you’re meant to die poor. If that seems unfair it’s because that’s the fucking point. Anti-egalitarian societies are meant to be stacked against you unless you’re at the top.

If you could force these conservative “anti-elitists” to publicly acknowledge the kinds of things they discuss in their private clubs and annual conferences, I think more Americans would find it kind of suspicious that the same “anti-elitist” elites, with their ivy league degrees, so strongly discourage Americans from obtaining an education for themselves.

There’s a reason they don’t really expand on what they mean when they say “democracy” is incompatible with freedom, and a reason they code their attacks on equality with buzzwords like multiculturalism and DEI. It’s been same the race baiting argument for over 50 years. The Heritage Foundation went from attacking multiculturalism in the 70s and 80s to PC culture in the 90s to Wokeness and DEI in the last 10 years because they are relying on the people who put them in power, to support that their “freedom” to participate in the heirarchy in exchange for their own exploitation. They won’t just openly acknowledge that they are the untouchable overclass because the quiet parts are the things they don’t say out loud until they’re emboldened enough to do so. There’s also a reason Alex Karp recently referred to the “woke left and right,” when it comes to people’s views on Palantir.

Tldr: Whether they realize it or not, traditional conservativism, anti-egalitarianism, and the heirarchies it depends on means only an elite few are meant to control the majority. They’re exclusionary by default about who gets to join the club, but they are very open minded when it comes to who can be exploited.

Mudsill theory and similar rhetoric has been dubbed “the Marxism of the Master-Class” which fought for the rights of the propertied elite against what were perceived as threats from the abolitionists, lower classes and non-whites to gain higher standards of living.

  • The bill doesn’t contain what is already the law. But we know ICE will just break the law anyway so does it really matter?

DeLauro acknowledged the bill would frustrate many Democratic lawmakers, but said it was necessary to fund numerous agencies, such as FEMA, the US Coast Guard, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. She also noted that ICE received $75 billion from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, so if no appropriations legislation passed, ICE would still be able to function for years while other agencies would struggle.

I mean, those other agencies are already struggling no? And last I checked it seems like the Coast guard was being edged into serving on behalf of team neo Nazi, and FEMA isn’t actually giving aid after disasters.

Idk I get that this is again damned if you do damned if you don’t in terms of helping to destroy the government, but when you have a lawless tyrant doing whatever the fuck he wants anyway, why bother to give him your stamp of approval?

So good on Jefferies for doing this.👏 You and Schumer need to pressure the entire party to make this an issue their future hinges on (because it literally does, along with all of our futures)

  • Both are true. Oil is the incentive but “socialism”=“communism”=“America’s greatest threat” is the “reason.”

The same is true about the history of Israel and U.S. relations following WWII. We needed unite against the dangers of “socialism” so we claimed to have Israel’s back when it came to Palestine, but actually just needed an alliance in the middle east to keep a grip on oil. Tale as old as time. Or at least as old as post WWII when the OSS faded out and the CIA was being established.

Who would have thought that the same men secretly sneaking Nazi war criminals into the U.S. had some kind of ulterior motive when it came to their public support of Israel?

  • Yeah it’s pretty much a guarantee that when you hear an oligarch saying regulations cause stagnation or stifle innovation, they’re referring to protections that are meant to keep people from being exploited.

They will then claim that U.S. values are “baked in” to their bullshit and that’s why you don’t need regulations… These are also the people that are destroying the U.S. and have openly stated they are trying to destroy democracy

For example, Kratsios, the man who argues against regulations for technology, was tasked with using cutting edge technology to prevent COVID from spreading as well as for keeping COVID misinformation from being shared on social media.

We know that he failed to do both.

Best case scenario, he has never known what the fuck he was doing, millions died under his watch, and this is a very clear example of why nobody should be listening to him.

Worst case scenario, his team of tech bros who were supposed to be keeping disinformation from spreading, either created (or intentionally allowed it to be spread) the online misinformation that plagued the U.S. regarding masks, because he felt the lives at risk were less important than the facial recognition data he was collecting, and the Clearview big government contracts he was attempting to sell to multiple agencies on behalf of Peter Thiel.

Best case or worst case scenario, the bottom line is that nobody should be listening to these people! They’re either incompetent morons or competent villains, or most likely a little bit of both. They are very dangerous, and they should not hold any government authority. The death rattle of democracy in the U.S. should be a warning to other countries about the danger of allowing private businesses to gradually infiltrate and eventually consume the government.

The entire purpose of a government even existing is to protect society from men exactly like this.

  • He’s Trump’s official science advisor now, but Idk why people leave his very impressive stint as Trump’s default science advisor with no science experience off of his resume these days…

Sign of the times I guess

Trump’s de facto science adviser is 31 and has no science training

More than a year into his presidency, Donald Trump still hasn’t appointed a top science adviser. So who, then, is the top-ranking science official in the White House?

“The job falls to Michael Kratsios,” ClimateWire’s Scott Waldman writes. As the top-ranking official in the Office of Science and Technology Policy, Kratsios is now the de facto top science adviser in the White House.

Kratsios is a 31-year-old with a political science degree and a focus on Hellenic (a.k.a. Greek) studies from Princeton who cut his professional teeth in Silicon Valley, according to Waldman. These are not exactly the qualifications you’d want for the person the president is supposed to turn to for advice on dealing with a disease outbreak, or an environmental disaster (though Archimedes’ principle does come in handy in explaining sea level rise).

  • As long as you’re ok with helping the U.S. destroy democracy and speed up the establishment of an authoritarian global surveillance state (privately owned of course) for your real boss and the people that pay money to listen to him rant about the antichrist, what he’s saying isn’t unreasonable.

He’s always believed that a country’s values are baked into technology. That’s why nobody needs regulations.

However, if you think that collecting data to improve facial recognition tech didn’t really justify intentionally spreading misinformation about masking during COVID, then you might not be interested in slurping the kool aid he’s so generously threatening offering.

  • “I will continue to point out to my tech minister counterparts the ways they can create a regulatory environment to allow AI to thrive,”

I would like to continue to point out to his tech minister counterparts that Kratsios was responsible for preventing the spread of online disinformation in the U.S. during the earliest days of COVID.

Shout out to the broligarchs who stepped in by early March to use cutting “edge technology” to keep COVID disinformation from spreading across social media:

March 2020: White House seeks assistance from tech companies in fight against coronavirus

In a phone call, U.S. Chief Technology Officer Michael Kratsios implored the companies to help out with an “all-hands-on-deck effort” to fight the new coronavirus. “The White House’s top priority is ensuring the safety and health of the American people amid the COVID-19 outbreak,” Kratsios said in a statement. “Cutting edge technology companies and major online platforms will play a critical role in this all-hands-on-deck effort.” According to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, top tech trade groups and companies participated in the call, including Apple, Cisco, Google, Facebook, IBM, Microsoft, Twitter, the Consumer Technology Association, the Information Technology Industry Council and others. The meeting revolved around how the tech industry can better coordinate with the government to get out authoritative facts about the coronavirus while cracking down on the spread of bunk cures and conspiracy theories spreading online.

Remember how we didn’t know for the longest time if we all should be bothering with masks? Crazy how so many people died because of that little “misunderstanding.” I’m pretty sure the U.S. was like the only country where it was even really debated…

Federal officials initially discouraged the general public from wearing masks for protecting themselves from COVID-19. In early April, federal officials reversed their guidance, saying that the general public should wear masks to lessen transmission by themselves, particularly from asymptomatic carriers. Public health experts such as Larry Gostin stated that federal officials should have recommended mask-wearing sooner;others noted that US government guidance lagged significantly behind mask recommendations in East Asian countries and likely exacerbated the scale of the pandemic in the United States.

I wonder why masking ever became so debatable on social media, and only in the U.S. when these guys were trying to keep disinformation from being spread? Oh well, when a billionaire decides to bother trying to help you, I guess the least you can do is show how grateful your are and say thank you, so I guess thank you for your services broligarchs 🫡

Even if you couldn’t stop the mask debate from spiraling out of control, it’s not like y’all intentionally didn’t want people masking up right? Like what incentive could tech bros (including Peter Thiel’s protege, Michael Kratsios) have possibly had in March of 2020 to try and discourage people from masking?

When the Department of Defense scheduled a meeting in January 2020 for Clearview to pitch its services, the invite included Johnson. The following month, Ton-That sent his friend a proposal to compensate Johnson in Clearview stock for advisory services he provided to the company “with respect to developing, marketing and selling its technology.” In July 2020, Johnson helped Schwartz draft a letter for Rep. Matt Gaetz—a personal friend of Johnson’s—to send to top officials at the Department of Homeland Security, lobbying them to use Clearview to smoke out spies among the “400,000 Chinese nationals who enter the U.S. every year as foreign students.”

By the end of Trump’s first presidential term, Clearview had secured funding from right-wing billionaire Peter Thiel, one of Elon Musk’s earliest business partners, and signed up hundreds of law enforcement clients around the country.

July 2020: Peter Thiel’s New Man In The Defense Department

The Pentagon’s new 33-year-old head of research and engineering lacks a basic science degree but brings deep connections to Donald Trump and controversial Silicon Valley venture capitalist Peter Thiel.

Too bad their plan to fight online disinformation about masking failed, I guess…

  • Oh, oh, somebody should let them know that the CIA recently admitted to intentionally fucking with the global heroin supply potency because they thought it would fuck up Afghanistan’s economy (allegedly). Because they assumed if people couldn’t get consistently potent heroin they would just stop buying it? (Allegedly)

I don’t think the CIA has actually commented on fentanyl being added to the U.S. heroin supply when they were intentionally fucking with the potency of heroin, but “whoever” introduced fentanyl to the U.S. took care of the potency problem. Now fentanyl has replaced heroin as the most commonly used opiate in the the U.S… so

So “somebody” was kind enough to offer a solution to the potency problem the CIA created by providing a cheaper and more potent synthetic alternative to heroin that can be made in a lab instead of grown in Afghanistan, and now that alternative is what dominates the U.S. market. Its weird because I feel like I’ve heard a similar story about the CIA and a cheaper more potent drug being introduced to the U.S. market before… 🤔

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/11/12/cia-afghanistan-heroin-poppy-seeds/

In 20 years of grinding war in Afghanistan, the United States dropped a multitude of weapons from the skies: Millions of tons of ordnance. Hellfire missiles launched from Predator drones. Even the “Mother of All Bombs,” the most powerful nonnuclear bomb in existence. And, amid the more conventional projectiles, tiny poppy seeds. By the billions.

On and off for over a decade, the Central Intelligence Agency conducted an audacious highly classified program to covertly manipulate Afghanistan’s lucrative poppy crop, blanketing Afghan farmers’ fields with specially modified seeds that germinated plants containing almost none of the chemicals that are refined into heroin, The Washington Post has learned.

The covert program, which has not previously been disclosed, is an unreported chapter in the 2001-2021 U.S. war in Afghanistan and in the long checkered history of American efforts to combat narcotics globally, from Latin America to Asia. Its existence was confirmed by 14 people familiar with aspects of the secret operation, all of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a classified project.

Anyway, heads up Greenland. Who knows, they might even try to introduce an entirely new drug to the market to replace one that’s already selling instead of just smuggling fentanyl
