I think we’ve maybe failed as a society if a picture of Earth from Mars is on mildly interesting…
I actually think it’s a sign of success, at least in one realm. We’ve been taking pictures of Earth from Mars for decades now. That it’s a common enough thing that it could maybe be “mildly interesting” is an achievement.
I could see that, I just worry that leads to complacency rather than a broader interest. Of course we don’t have much history for this to grow from yet!
In order to fail, you first have to achieve something … and in terms of the wider universe and our planet … humanity has only just started
I never thought what the night sky on Mars would look like but now I really curious.
I imagine dark with fewer stars.
Why fewer? Wouldn’t lack of atmospheric interference allow the light from more stars to reach your eyes on Mars?
Does our atmosphere magnify things slightly? Seems brighter on Earth
probably just differences in cameras, lenses and exposure times
I too was initially wondering that. A comparison with a similar camera to that of the Mars rovers would’ve been more interesting. We have much more capable cams here at home.
