Austerity never works. I guess Milei went to the IMF school of running a country into ruin.

You realize that Argentina was already run into the ground right? They need radical, cost-cutting, change. I am curious to see what happens.

Learn history and economics and you won’t need to be curious

He’s devaluing the currency (apparently dollarizing it was even too radical for his supporters) and applying shock therapy and thus building an export Economy and seeling off state assets for pennies to foreign multinationals.

Basically recreating 90s Russia which worked out pretty good as we all know

      • Making things radically worse is entirely possible. They’ve been in dire straights for years but this is trickle down economics bullshit. None of this will help the people of Argentina past the very rich

Whether you like him or not, the real world reality is that the Argentinian Goverment was bloated. English media really wants to hate on this guy. Not everyone likes him, but the country broke. He said he was going to push for austerities and he is doing that.

Also not a fan that he wants to sell exploration rights. But unless someone wants to give Argentina Ukrainian-type cash Aid packages, they are going to have through go some taught times. They should have gone through this over a decade ago bit the previous goverment took out loans after loans, exploding the debt.

Still odd to me that he won. Also, he is putting his sister as an Goverment Official, so nepotism seems to be alive and well in Argentina.
